First Time Visitor to Epcot, DHS and DAK

My mom is coming with me to Disney World this year. I'm so excited to show her the World that I have come to love over the last couple of years. She's only been to the Magic Kingdom and that was over 30 years ago.

I can't decide what I want to show her first in the parks she hasn't been to. What would you do first when introducing a new comer to WDW?

At DAK I would start with the Safari then do something that you guys want to do. I would say then go to Expedition Everest then Dinosaur but not sure if your mom likes those type of rides. You should take her to It's Tough to be a Bug. You should probably watch Mickeys Jammin Jungle Parade, Finding Nemo the Musical and Festival of the Lion King. Don't forget about Rafiki's Planet Watch.

At Magic Kingdom, I would start with classics like Dumbo, all three Mountains, Mad Tea Party, TTA People Mover, Carousel of Progress, Small World, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise and Pirates. I would also ride the train. I would also go to the rope drop and stay until park closing. You could throw in a nap in the middle of the afternoon if you wanted or resort time.

I agree with Mandy about starting at the safari in AK, proceeded by a long stare at the tree of life. For EPCOT, I recommend starting early with the Land and The Living Seas and then spending some time exploring the World Showcase. Sounds like a special trip for both you and mom!

I have a few questions before I give my opinion, if you don't mind Smile I am always so excited when someone sees the parks for the first time.
A) How many days will she be going into the park?
B) What month is the trip?
C) Does your mom have any physical limitations such as (difficultly walking, bad back, etc.) that would make getting around difficult (this is really only an issue at Animal kingdom where the ground is a bit more uneven for walking).

How fun! You two are going to have a great time!

When going to Disney with a newbie or someone who hasn't been for years I always try and tailor the trip to their interests first. That way I know that they're going to have a good time. So I guess the question is what kind of things does you Mom enjoy most?

I don't mind at all.

A - we have an 8 day park hopper
B - November
C - no physical limitations

My mom likes going out for dinner. I have a lot of nice ADRs planned for both breakfast and dinner. I know she would like seeing the different resorts. She's pretty much a "whatever you want to do is fine with me" type of person.

I agree with the safari as the first stop at Animal Kingdom! It really sets the stage for the rest of the park. As far as Epcot, I'd start with Soarin! Its just such a neat ride!
