Flash photography rules relaxed?

While I was at the World in September, I was surprised that the ride announcements no longer included "No flash photography". The rules for keeping your arms and legs in the vehicle were still there, but the photography rule had been omitted.

I noticed this on rides like Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, as well as many others.

This was both a blessing and a curse, depending on the ride.

I remember in 2010 that the announcements still had flash photography included.
Have any of you experienced the rides this year, and have you noticed a difference regarding the amount of flash photography on the rides?

Let me know what you think Smile

I've just noticed people blatantly disregarding it (if it was in place...to be honest, I can't remember), especially on POTC and the Mexico ride in Epcot. Been blinded a time or two by @#$% flashes.

Um K, rant over Smile

Thats okay Lizzy, thats a legal rant! We did not notice it being laxed while there in Oct. I even took a picture in the boat while still at the dock and i forgot to take the flash off and the CM did say loudly "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY PLEASE".

I hope that this is simply an oversight.

Still, I don't recall no flash photography on It's A Small World and Winnie the Pooh. I do know Haunted Mansion has it right in audio track itself (i.e. mentioned by the Ghost Host). Both It's a Small World and Winnie The Pooh are not considered as "dark rides", unlike Haunted Mansion, Pirates, etc.

And people snapping pictures during dark rides with their flash on is one of my pet peeves.

Zz.

It's my pet peeve too, I believe I ranted a while back on a thread here...it's just rude to ruin the ride for everyone else so you can get pics. POTC was the subject of my rage at the time.

I agree and hope it's not been laxed..a dark ride isn't the same when a big old flash goes off...however, it can be such a hard thing to control.

I didn't notice if there were any signs or not. They did say no flash photography on Living with the Land. There were people taking pictures with flash on Nemo this morning. I'm sure the only picture they got was of the flash.

There was someone taking pictures with flash on the Dinosaur ride in AK when we were there in October mad I tapped them on the shoulder and told them to stop. This really bugs me! It spoils the experience for everyone.

I admire your bravery! I just glower and talk loudly in a passive aggressive way gaah

And I'm glad I'm not the only person that this bugs!

UGH! when we were on Nemo there was a family next to us took up 2 shells. they kept taking pictures of each other the ENTIRE ride. so every time they flashed in our direction it blinded us because it's so dark in there. they probably have pictures of my stink eye.
