Flying Fish or GF Intimate Dining?

I thought I had it all figured out, but now I'm rethinking...here are our two options for our anniversary night:

1) Dinner at Flying Fish at 5:30. We would spend at least $100 here on dinner, easy. Then head to GF for the private dessert party, which is $45/person. DH requested seafood at some point during the trip, thus the FF. FF has a much better seafood selection than...

2) Intimate Dining at GF. This is $95/person for appetizer, entree and dessert. I *think* we can bring our own wine. Only one seafood selection (salmon), but lots of tasty options.

For either option, we pay $75 for a butler ($25/add'l hour) and an 18% gratuity. That is the cost difference, I think, but when I add it up, the cost difference is pretty small.

I would ask DH, but the whole day is a surprise for him. Other facts: we will go to the California Grill the night before we leave, and I think there are seafood options there beyond salmon, including sushi. CG is our only signature dining on the agenda right now, since I took the Brown Derby off in exchange for the MVMCP.

All of that to ask, what would you do?

I had to google the intimate dining. I say go with that!! Not to spend your money for you....BUT you can dine in a nice seafood restaurant just about anywhere. How often do you get dinner served to you by a private butler on a balcony overlooking the Magic Kingdom?? THAT's a once in a lifetime experience!!

Taratru, you cant even compare the two really. Flying Fish is an excellent restaurant, but the Intimate Dining is a totally different type of experience. i would say if you want the ultimate experience, go with the Intimate Dining. Also, are you sure this is still available. I have not heard anything about this lately. I know it's listed on other websites, but all the posts are pretty old.

You guys are right. What am I thinking? DH can eat tasty fish anywhere. Now the real question is, inside or outside? Inside: hear the orchestra, better view of the fireworks, dancing... now that I say it, I think yes, inside. Outside might be chilly in November and the fireworks view isn't as good.

It is! I spoke with a lady on Saturday and am answering her email tonight to make the reservation final.
