Food & Wine Disney House Party..

Well I'am looking forward to next Saturday as I'am hosting a small house party for friends who love all things Disney, but last night whilst having a drink in our local bar, one of my friends who has recently returned from South Korea ( His wife is Korean ) and they are also booked for a WDW trip next year, has offered to make some Korean delights and this got me thinking..Why not make my buffet like a mini F & W night.. clapping ...So I've got 30 countries to choose from..I'am hoping to do at least a dozen different countries cuisines..So all you food lovers out there...Which countries would you choose, and what snack/finger food stuff would you do.?...Looking for ideas..As far as wine goes, I'll just go to my wine store and select various ones from Australia..South America..Germany..France..Californian Napa Valley..etc..

Belgium was one of our favorite. Serve the Belgium waffles for sweet you can offer a strawberry compote with fresh whipped cream and for savory you could use a slow roasted meat in natural gravy. I'm thinking a Chardonnay would go with the sweet and for the savory maybe serve a beer like Grolsch

Germany. Has to be brats and kraut for us. With a nice German beer I like Becks

American the all American hotdog and apple pie. Also with beer. My favorite would be shock top or Sierra Nevada.

Not much on the fine world of wines but I do enjoy a nice cold beer. Lol

Tamarin sauce for Chicken (or what ever you like) as served at Yak and Yeti. The sauce recipe is on ALLEARS and I have made it for many years. Quite yummy. You do have to find Tamarin in your grocery/veggie department and then you food process the heck out of it before starting the sauce.

I have actually done this, although for a small group, just us and another couple, so not as much variety as you might have at your party.

To make things easier, I used some purchased foods from the supermarket:

Frozen eggrolls or potstickers to represent China, just heat them up and serve.
Frozen empanadas to represent Brazil, same deal, heat and serve.
Store-bought spicy sausage and "instant" polenta combined with the right ingredients to make the spicy sausage with sweet corn polenta featured at the Canada booth a few years back.

For other items, I used purchased foods combined with homemade:

Frozen tempura battered shrimp and store-bought tortillas combined with homemade chipotle mayo and home-prepped veggies to make the Mexican shrimp tacos.
Store-bought Greek pita bread with homemade chicken souvlaki and homemade tzatziki sauce for Greece.

Some things were completely homemade, such as Aussie meat pies, we can't get anything like that around here.

We've done this more than once, and I can't remember everything I've made, but this is a good sample.

And it's a blast! I love doing a mini Food and Wine Festival at home. It's a great way to get a little WDW into everyday life. Yours will be even better since you're having a larger party and making a bigger variety of foods. So please, once it's over, give us the whole menu and maybe a few recipes?

Great idea! What time should I show up? Wink
For a dessert/sweet option I'd make butter tarts for Canada. I'm still waiting for the Canada pavilion at Epcot to open a butter tart cart waiting

I'm a big fan of the shrimp tacos from Mexico during F&W fest. The recipe is on the Disney Food Blog:
