They were caught by surprise by the demand. The supply chain is just starting to catch up.
I haven't looked but I imagine E-bay is brisk with items for sale.

she changed her mind......
going as Elsa
At least some people will get a shot out of it!
"I do not like the cone of shame."
"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. I want it more than I can tell."
"It seems to me that we have a lot of story yet to tell."
One of the best costumes I saw at mnsshp....
Elsa in drag! and it was done very well indeed.

I'm so sorry that I missed out on the game. In our little town, we do trick-or-treat the Tuesday before Halloween. Then we have a parade on that Thursday that around here is like a huge big deal. Then the neighboring communities do trick-or-treat on actual Halloween, so I had an opportunity to play the game Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. Except that I coach gymnastics at our local YMCA. Until 9:00 three nights a week. And you'll NEVER guess which three nights my kids practice. Yep! Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Be good at something. It makes you valuable. Have something to bring to the table because that will make you more welcome. --Randy Pausch

Perhaps... but Disney Parks does try to "limit" purchases to prevent that to some degree. They were limiting the Vera Bradley bags to x number per customer at time of purchase.
And my understanding was (from hearsay in the parks) was that they were limiting frozen merchandise purchases as well.... largely to prevent E-bay sales as much as possible.... they can't really stop it, but at least there is some effort there.
I'm really referring to the retail world in general. Disney parks generate a small portion of merchandising revenues. For instance, Frozen sales by Walmart will dwarf Disney parks sales.

Good Point.
I saw quite a few items limited to 5 per person, including frozen items. However I know that this is ineffective because you go as a family and space out your purchases or wait for a checkout shift change and pay cash.
So one contributor from Today claims the toy shortage is over with the Disney Store back in full stock and doing some window shopping myself, I still see some Frozen stuff in both large stores like Walmart and your typical retail mall outlets like Hot Topic and Spencer's but not exactly in large amounts. We'll see what the holiday season brings but after hearing an incident were two people fought over Frozen merchandise in Wales, it does make me wonder what will happen on Black Friday in the States.....

"All my life I wonder how it feels to pass a day, not above them but part of them.
And out there living in the sun, give me one day out there, all I ask is one to hold forever. Out there where they all live unaware, what I'd give, what I'd dare, just to live one day out there."

Very True Sir, very True. Reason number 45862 not to go to WalMart. UGH!

I want Big Hero 6 to be popular with lots of cool merchandise for me to buy.
There was a lot of Big Hero 6 merchandise in the parks especially Hollywood Studios.
The boy and the balloon guy were doing character meets all day on Sunday.
I saw a few kids carrying around Big Hero 6 stuff.
But mostly I saw little girls in Elsa and Anna dresses.

Love it!
Well, not surprisingly, the Frozen short will be played before all screenings of the 2015 live-action Cinderella film. I expect Cinderella to make a lot of money because of that. It'll be Scooby-Doo and Harry Potter all over again. (When the Scooby-Doo movie came out in 2002, one of the trailers that played in screenings with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Supposedly, some people bought tickets for Scooby-Doo just to see the HP trailer and left after the trailer was finished.)
In other news, Frozen topped the toy charts this Christmas and Idina Menzel claims a Frozen sequel in the works. Better start collecting more fire wood and lighters 'cause this franchise blizzard isn't letting up!
On a side note, BH6 has made $167 million so far in the States. Only $33 million left to reach the $200 million mark!
