Get your hike on at AK

It looks like Disney announced today that they are developing a new special priced tour that will allow you to hike deeper into the Harambe Reserve with a tour guide. This seems really interesting. I always thought that they could do a lot more with the Safari..even though it's neat there always just seems like there is so much more to see before you have to start hunting down the poachers! Here is the word from Disney..

If you've ever wanted to venture off the beaten path and farther into
the Kilimanjaro
Safaris Expedition savannah, you'll have a chance later this year.
Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be offering a new, immersive
experience thatll take a small group of Guests on personalized, guided
treks along some unexplored areas of the Harambe Reserve.

During the excursions, youll be able to spend more time observing
the wildlife on the savannah and have a chance to learn about the
animals and their behaviors from one of our Disney guides. Adventurers
will also trek through an undeveloped forest area of the Harambe Reserve
and then board a unique vehicle specially designed for the rest of the
quest.

Walt Disney Imagineers are still working on many of the details but
we wanted to share the news with you first. Reservations for this
specially priced tour wont begin until later this year, so keep
checking back for more details.

Sounds exciting. I wonder if it will be grouped with the "backstage tours" or if it will be like an extra attraction in the park

So do you actually get to walk through the reserve, or will you have your own private "safari vehicle"? I see that you board a special vehicle at the end, but is the beginning part walking? That WOULD be awesome.

They need more hiking and "adventure" stuff in WDW. The nature trails at WL are nice, but not adequate.

I think that it's a walking hike..I was reading about it somewhere else and it I got that impression..but I could be wrong.
I'm not much of "hiking" kind of girl but it would be something I would consider at Disney.
