Hi everyone,
I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon for my post-operation appointment. After taking off the surgical tape from the four holes in my belly--believe me, the scars are very tiny and nothing to write home about, so I don't have pictures--and examining me, he pronounced everything good and that I was fit to go back to work. He asked me when I wanted to go back to work; when I said, "Well, today's pretty well shot", he told me that he wasn't thinking of that very day. I told him to make it Thursday (tomorrow) since Wednesday (today) is my regular off day. His secretary wrote the return-to-work note.
There are still tender areas of my belly, especially right below my ribcage, where they cut into the muscle and removed my gall bladder. Stitching is mostly below the skin and detectable by small bumps near the incision sites, that will gradually dissolve. I am on an unrestricted diet, although the doctor did advise against eating a whole pepperoni pizza. Generally, I'll try to avoid fatty or spicy foods, which are digested by gall, an enzyme released by the gall bladder.
In other words, I'm back to normal, whatever that is.
Jim
