Going to Disney world for my honeymoon!!!

Hey everybody!!

I did not even know a site like this was out there. I just wanted to say hi and ask if there is any must sees for someone that has not been to disney in about 12 years. I am getting married Dec 3rd of this year and were going to WDW for our honeymoon.

Thanks,
Katie

You are visiting WDW at a wonderful time. The Christmas decorations are fantastic. Definitely, check out Osborne Family Lights at Hollywood Studios.

Well hello, welcome and congratulations all at once!!

How incredibly exciting! Take me!! I will show you what you need to see/do!! I am amazingly low maintenance and you will hardly even know I am there! Really! laugh

I'm with mrhub - see everything!! Har. But if you can't do everything, these would be on my list as new since 1999 and/or only at Christmas time and therefore must see/do:

1. JoAnn C is totally right about the Osborne Lights
2. If you have time, do some resort hopping to check out the Christmas decorations - Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Grand Floridian would be top on my list if I had to pick 2. The Boardwalk has a cool Gingerbread display too
3. Soarin' at EPCOT
4. Rock n Roller Coaster at HS
5. If you want to do Toy Story Mania at HS, you need to get there early and do it first thing or get a FastPass fist thing; Star Tours is refurbished and top of my list to do too!
5. Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom
6. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!
7. IllumiNations at EPCOT

Welcome, and congratulations! How exciting for you! You have chosen a GREAT time to go, too...there's a good chance that weather will be perfect, and crowds will be manageable during the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas!

To Jeff's list, I would add the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It's the traditional telling of the Christmas story by a different celebrity narrator everynight. A choir and the Voices of Liberty sing traditional carols interspersed with the narration. If you like tradition (can I use that word one more time??) then you will love this. It's included with your regular admission. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is an after hours event held at Magic Kingdom that I hear is wonderful, with a special parade and other nice holiday touches. It requires a separate ticket.

I would also suggest calling as soon as possible if you have in mind any special dinner reservations, as ADRs book quick. Let us know if you'd like any advice about restaurants. We LOVE to eat around here!

OH - and it would seem that you MUST visit the Christmas Shoppe at Downtown Disney to get a special ornament for your tree, commemorating your honeymoon mickey

Hello, welcome and congrats to you!! You are going to love this site, everyone here is awesome.
Christmas is amazing at Disney. I have never been to WDW at that time but it is my favorite at Disneyland so I can only imagine it would be just as amazing. I do have to agree with Lizzy_B too, think about where you want to eat and book ADR's cause they can go pretty fast.

Welcome and congrats! muchlove

I'll echo the "everything" sentiment, because so much has happened! You've got a great list there from JeffC. Because I'm really into doing the special events right now, I highly suggest getting tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party if you can!

Welcome. My husband and I did WDW for our honeymoon in March 2009. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and absolutely loved it. One piece of advice I have is to let WDW know it is your honeymoon. They will give you each a "just married" button to wear around. Definitely wear it! We got great tables at the restaurants, got the best seats on certain rides, and we even got one or two snacks for free. Not to mention, every cast member who saw us congratulated us which made it even more special!
