Going with the grandkids

Is anyone with grandkids reluctant to go with the kids and grandkids. I see a lot of situations where the parents use the grandparents as babysitters so they can go have fun.

Thats pretty much what we're doing in June, but we are going with that intention. I'm still going to have fun though, unless the heat gets to me.

Are they at least paying for your trip! I guess as a grandparent, you actually want to spend time with your grandkids, eh?

It's so much fun seeing someone's first trip to WDW. How old is she?

I think the answer to this would depend on a lot of things. We gave the trip we are taking in June to our boys families for a Christmas present. The gift was probably a little selfish because the purpose of the trip was to take our grand daughter on her first trip to Disney. She will only be 20 months old when we go in June. I do know that she will never remember the trip but Nanny and Poppy (Mrhub and I) sure will.
This may end up being the craziest thing we have ever done. We did not take the boys with us until our youngest one was 4. I never wanted to carry diapers or do the stroller thing through the parks. Somehow being grandparents instead of Mom and Dad makes us think it may not be to bad.
I think it also depends on the age of the grandparents. We are fairly young to be grandparents in todays world. A lot of people we know have kids still in school and some even have kids in elementary school.

This should be a great trip report! I think the fact that the adults outnumber the...kid...should offer everyone a lot of time to have fun on their own as well as with your granddaughter. And there will be plenty of people to be on stroller and diaper duty!

Are you guys planning any character meals? Those should be fun with an almost 2-yr-old! Unless she's scared... maybe MrHub should get a giant mouse costume and wander around the house for a bit to get her used to it!

Yes Bali,
Actually every breakfast except one is a character breakfast. I think if she likes them we will get a lot of great pictures if she does not like them, I think it will be easy enough to stear them away from her.
For dinner I booked all family type meals where I thought there would be a lot of noise and other small children.
This will be quite a different trip from what we are use to. It has been a long time since we have gone with kids at all and even longer since we went with young kids and like I said before, we have never gone with one this young.

Ooh! You're very brave! Are you nervous about it at all? Or just excited to get to see the kiddos see the Magic?
