Grand Opening Strategy Discussion For Star Wars; Galaxy's Edge

For those of you that were in on grand openings at the Disney Parks recently (Frozen Ever After, Pandora, Fantasyland, Toy Story Land), or even for folks who just followed the chaos closely. What are your best touring tips for guests that will be headed down for the debut of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge? How do you think it will compare to other recent opening? Do you have any thoughts on Disneyland's announcement that reservations will be needed just to walk into the land for the first month? Do you plan on being first in line?

We went to Hollywood Studios the 3rd day after Toy Story Land opened and it wait times were not crazy at all. The first day is all the diehards that want to be there first, the second day is all the people trying to avoid the first day, and the third was a great time to go. That being said, Galaxy's Edge is going to be totally unprecedented in the type of crowds it's going to bring in so all advice may have to go out the window.

I predict sheer bloody chaos, utter pandemonium, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria. I will wait a year or two to go, and try and convince myself the crowds will be better, in vain.

Cast members have been blocked from Disneyland from Memorial day all the way through Aug 31 so far. We are expecting the same kind of block outs for Hollywood Studios.

Does that mean that you are not allowed to go, or that if you go you have to purchase a ticket?

I would think if you purchase a full price ticket and are a paying customer like everyone else that they can't stop you from going, right? They're just not allowing you to use your cast member ticket to get in?

If we purchase a ticket then we can come in. Right.
