Halloween Horror Nights

I got this from Universal today.

Its Never Too Soon to Start Panicking.
On select nights in September and October, your worst nightmares will soon be taking shape in the shadowy darkness of the country as premier annual Halloween event-Universal Orlando® Resort as Halloween Horror Nights®.
This year promises to break new ground by being the most immersive horror experience ever. Every step, every turn takes you into a new realm of fear. In the houses or on the streets, there is nowhere safe and nowhere you can hide. Its the greatest exhibition of pure terror ever unleashed anywhere, and you can experience it all, LIVE, only at Universal as Halloween Horror Nights.

Do you have any personal experience with that event? I think it's probably to me the most appealing thing about Universal, but I haven't made it.

I am totally and utterly terrified to go to those things! I saw a travel channel special on them once and it freaked me out!

It is MUCH more fun being on the SCARING side.

I hate the average haunted house too, as I don't like things jumping out at me, etc.

But years ago, I helped with my local recreation department's haunted house as a guide. It is so much fun to lead a group through something like that when you know all the stuff that is going to happen, and know that all the actors are ignoring you because you've been through 25 times already.

Plus, it is amazing to watch the faces and reaction of the people you're leading through.

I'd have to agree with this. It's why entertaining is so much fun. Though I have to say, I'm interested in doing Halloween Horror Nights just for the experience.

I think the "jump out" guys have a dangerous job. Kids, and sometimes adults, are all worked up and they sometimes hit or kick them.

So clowns jumping out would be the worst.

I've really had a great time at each HHN that I have been too. It is a very nonDisney type of event and extremely scary. That being said when I saw that "Chucky" was one of the "hosts" this year that did it for me. No way am I going anywhere near that event this year. Don't know what it is about that silly doll but I cannot stand him.

Hiya SoapSuds! So you can't be too chicken if you were terrified last year and you're going again. Everyone gets scared, it's the brave people who face their fears...or something like that right?

Welcome to the boards!

I went a few times more than ten years ago. It was really fun then and I would expect it has only gotten better. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that doesn't like being scared (in one sense or another), though. Back in the day, the performers were allowed to touch you. Imagine how much scarier it was then. They could jump out of the bushes and actually grab you (they had standards of course, so contact was relatively minimal).

I would be nervous I'd instinctively hit back. I bet they get hit quite a bit over the course of the night by high-strung people.

they probably thought they had a good new attraction by getting chucky in there and he actually cost them a customer.

I never realized there were so many Chucky movies. According to Wikipedia there were 5 and a 6th one is supposed to come out in 2011. I think I saw the first one on HBO, or maybe just parts of it.
