Halloween Party..

Ok folks,Have just been reading up on this not do scary party and decided to get tickets for it when we arrive...Question one...Can we purchase them from our concierge at WL..?...Question two...Have any of you good people attended one and did you get dressed up for it.?...I was thinking of just getting a glow pumpkin T- Shirt rather than a costume...Tho I did spot a Dr Facilier one that looked cool..What's your take on this party night.?..

I have been 4 times to mickeys not so scary and we have always dressed up it just add so much to the fun. However I would strongly suggest you get your tickets for whatever night you wany to go as soon as they come on sale (through disneys website) because they sell out quickly. But that has been my experience. Good luck and have lots of fun.

Only prob I read about buying them too soon was the weather report..One person who was there for two weeks, checked the weather and had no problem getting them while he was there..Seems the nearer the 31st the busier it gets..I was thinking on our first week..Oct 14-19...

I agree with Kathys about the tickets. Don't wait too long because they do sell out. I was there last year during the first week of October and had a great time. My BFF and I dressed up, enjoyed the parade and fireworks and rode on all the rides that were open and went "trick or treating" with CMs set up in different areas giving out candy.

Cheers everyone for your answers..I'am gonna take a gamble on booking them when I get there..We have a 12 day window with a possible 6 nights to choose from..Boo Hoo..Lol..

We had an awesome time. I'm not positive how often they sell out but I bet you could find out with a little research. We did simple costumes as your odds of heat are pretty high. There were a lot of t shirt costumes the night we went. Lots of fun. We also went to the poly and watched another round of the fireworks.

We've gone twice and purchased our tickets online really early once...the next time we purchased them at our resort the day we arrived for a couple of nights later. We've never had an issue.

We don't dress up, but I do wear a Disney Halloween-themed shirt.

I've been to MNSSHP three times, dressed up once, and LOVED it! I would go back in a heartbeat. The 'Boo To You' Halloween Parade is my favorite of all Disney parades, and I'm not really a parade fan but I wait for that one.

Weather is a concern. We had one forum member maybe two seasons ago (was it MagicMirror?) who had their party practically washed out and everything canceled because it was raining so hard that they couldn't do most of the special events for the night. She was miserable and really disappointed. If I remember correctly Disney offered her tickets for an alternate night, however they didn't have any more time in their trip to go back.

I think I worry more about the dates selling out than I do getting rained out. However if I experienced the rain during the wash out event I think that would be my main concern too.

This is why I always advise people to book it early into their trip! That way if it rains like that again it can be rescheduled. Our first time was touch and go with the rain ( I think it may have been around the same time as MagicMirror ) we escaped most of the rain though with careful planning and avoidance tactics Wink

I've missed MNSSHP one year since 2002. One of the best times I had was during a rainstorm. Every one ran home with their kids and we had the place to ourselves almost. One of the two scheduled parades was canceled and Hallowishes was postponed a half hour. But no crowds, walk on ride lines, and WE GOT OUR MONEY BACK.

My favorite costume- the year my daughter had no costume so she went around World Showcase getting her arms stamped at every country then went as a human passport.

You really are limited to what kind of costume you can wear, by the hot weather and also by the rides.

We were probably there the same night. They don't give refunds often. 2012 I don't remember the date

We want to go 28th October this year, not thought about the weather being an issue. I am undecided how early to buy my tickets, one of us will have an AP but we weren't planning on getting that until we arrive in Orlando on 23rd October (the rest of us will have 3wk WDW Ultimate tickets) so could then use it to buy the MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets with AP discount, but don't want to risk them being sold out. We don't want to go any earlier in our trip as the children need time to adjust to the time difference to be able to stay up late, also our Memory Maker is only valid for 30days and if we get our first Photopass photos at MNSSHP on 28th October and also want to go to DTD and get our last photopass photos at Santa's chalet on 27th November before flying home.

We have been once before in 2009, we didn't wear costumes then but definitely will get dressed up this year. We weren't very well prepared last time, but this time we will know better how to get the best from it and see the Seven Dwarfs etc. We did absolutely love the Boo To You Parade, DH isn't into parades at all but even he loved it.

We dressed up and had a blast. Down-side. We dressed up so well that we got stopped every few feet for pictures or children running up to us (they thought we were part of the Disney cast), so we only got to do about half of the things we wanted to do as it took up a lot of our time.
