Has anyone been to Busch Gardens in Tampa? Does it even still exist? I never really hear anything about it anymore. I had been as a child and had a lot of fun, but I'm not sure what's happening there these days.

Same here. I was there when I was in 2nd grade. I have cousins who go to the one in VA but I haven't heard anyone mentioning the one in Tampa recently. I checked, it's still there.
I went as a kid also, but that was when it was set up more like animal kingdom, The focus was on the animals not the rides. I hear it is the opposite to that now. Waiting to hear about Busch Gardens if we were driving I would so be doing Busch Gardens this time. Maybe it is the not so new management. I know there has been little changes here at Williamsburg.
To the best of my knowledge it's still there, but I've never been to the one in Florida.
I just checked online and it is indeed still there in Tampa. They are advertising their Halloween extravaganza called Hall-O-Scream 2012.
I have not been in many years, but yes, it's there. They have several roller coasters. I live about 3 hours west of Tampa, so we see ads all the time on tv here- and spooky radio commercials during October when they advertise about Howl O Scream. My kids and husband have never been, but we hope to get over there someday.
I was there 3-4 years ago. There's more rides not ( last time I was there has in the 70's or 80's) and there's no jungle ride thru anymore ( I think I remember a jungle drive thru back them). They have a train that goes around the animal habitats. There is a lot more, pretty cool looking roller coasters, and other rides. I believe each Busch Gardens theme park has a different theme, one geared more to Europe, the one in Tampa I think is geared more to Africa. I'd go back, but not sure I'd go out of my way to do it.....
And I haven't seen anyone say they have any "Magic" over there!

That's why I'm in no hurry. We will get over there ...someday. Hope to be at Disney WAY before I get to B.G.
We were there this past March for the first time, and I have to say it is our favorite non-Disney park. We would go back there again. Great rides, some shows and fun encounters with animals. The park is clean and well themed. It is a bit of a drive from Orlando, but we really enjoyed our time there.
Busch Gardens is alive and well and has really really great thrill rides! We've had annual passes off and on since we are live 20 min. from there. It's a very nice park, clean and modern with lots of new rides. It's not Disney in the fact that it is more of an amusement park than a theme park like Disney. They have lots of rides and some very nice animal displays, similar to AK. It definitely lacks the Disney magic, but it is a very fun way to spend an entire day as the park is a good size. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for an amusement park with lots of cool rides.

Busch Gardens is a nice Tampa alternative. While it isn't Disney, I will say they do a better job than most. There Coasters are all nicely themed, and Shekra was the country's first drop coaster. It provides quite a thirll. Lot's of good animals still. It is more Tampa's thing, but still a fun filled park for sure.

If I remember right... Shekra is one of the top thrill rollercoasters period if I remember right.

Busch Gardens is a good non-Disney park but let's be real - anything you compare to Disney is going to fall short. BG is great for coasters...Montu is is probably my second favorite coaster ever, behind Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point in OH. Jungala is is a great animal attraction because you can get up close with them and if you are lucky you can play tug-o-war with the tigers, if the tigers are feeling like it.
Cedar Point is the best. Love that place for coasters. Hands down! But have not had a chance to go on TTD. Its always been either too windy or broken down.

Short but sweet!
Ceader Point is probably the best park there is for thrill ride seakers, but if you want variety, you may be out of luck. Busch Gardens has a good amount of variety.
Has anyone been to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg? I always wanted to go there. I've been to the Tampa park, but the themeing of the VA park always seemed to be more "old world." That appealed to me more.
I have been to BG Williamsburg several times, but I haven't been there in at least 20 years. I did like it. It is definitely old world. The last time I went the coaster Big, Bad Wolf had just opened. It has a replica of the Globe Theater from Shakespeare's time. If you have a chance to visit I would and you can also visit Williamsburg, VA from the 1600s another great historic place.
