Have you ever seen a Shuttle Launch?

My family, when I was a kid, went to see a shuttle launch in Orlando -- how incredible! Has anyone seen one? Anyone recently? What else is there to do at Nasa if the launch is scrubbed? Thanks!

My son and I were in Coco Beach doing a small job when the Challenger was launched. When we saw the first sign of the launch trail we pulled off the road to watch. Being that close we had a good view. We watched it climb higher until there was the huge explosion. We didn't know what happened until we got to the job and saw it on TV. Very emotional experience.
There is plenty to do at NASA. Last time we were there was in the early 90s. At that time there was a great tour you could take. Don't know about now since 911.
Have fun,
Joe

Never been there, but I've been to the US Space and Rocket Center (and space camp) in Huntsville, AL. That was very cool.

Thanks, Joe. Wow; what an experience that must have been to see the Challenger.

I would very much like to tour Nasa; I don't remember anything about it from when I was a kid.

Are you in the Orlando area?

Wow. That's a really intense experience. Is that the only shuttle launch you've seen? Did you guys know something was wrong before you got to the job site?

Thanks for sharing that with us, Joe. What a story.

Personally, I haven't seen a launch in a long time. It was thrilling to watch the recent ones on TV. I'm so interested in everything that's going on up there with the space station. We live in such an intriguing time!
