Hello

Hi everyone!

I'm Aliceacc and I've just joined. I'm a high school math teacher on Long Island, married to a high school English teacher. We have 3 kids, ages 14, 13 (well, as of tomorrow; for today she's 12) and 10.

We're huge Disney fans. We rediscovered Disney World in 2008 after a hiatus of over a decade, and just fell in love. So we returned in 2009, both times to the Polynesian. Last August we tried the Beach Club, and we'll be staying there every time we can find the cash.

We're hoping to return in summer 2014. If we can't swing the Beach Club, we'll be doing the teacher's discount at the Dolphin, but I really, REALLY want to return to the Beach Club.

It will be nice getting to know you.

Alice

Hello Aliceacc and welcome to WDW For Grownups! Glad to have you and congrats on re-discovering Disney! We love the Poly and stay there every chance we get. The Beach Club is very nice, but we have only stayed there as DVC. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Our newest favorite is the Clambake at Cape May. I kind of talked the kids into it last year, and everyone loved it!!!

And we're huge Le Cellier fans, though with the recent changes, it's now a lunch choice instead of dinner.

And we've never had a bad meal at the Coral Reef, though I know it gets mixed reviews.

Don't know if you heard but Le Cellier got rid of the lunch menu and its the dinner menu also at that time now, also 2 credits from the meal plan.

welcome Alice!! I've always wanted to try the clambake at Cape May, because my fiance and I are huge seafood lovers! Oh, and happy almost-birthday to your daughter!

Ouch. Thanks for the info.

Ah, well. If we do the meal plan-- and I really hope to-- I guess either we suck it up and do 2 credits or find other options.

To be honest, having one night without any ADRs would give us a lot more freedom. So it may still be an option.

And Kat, the clambake really did have something for everyone. I totally pigged out on mussels-- I'm the only one in my family who loves them. My husband was in crab leg heaven. My son ate lots of ribs, and I'm not sure exactly what my daughters ate, but everyone loved it. Give it a try!

Oooh...the clambake...that sounds spectacular!

Did y'all do the Character Breakfast at the Beach Club, or are the kiddos past the point of thinking Character Breakfasts are cool?

I've always wanted to be able to enter Epcot through the International Gateway...it's like the secret Bat Cave entrance, or something. Smile

Here's to high hopes for the Beach Club (but I hear the Dolphin's pretty awesome, too!)

Welcome, Welcome! We can't wait to get to know more about you!

We like to be at the parks for rope drop, so we don't do real breakfasts. We have groceries delivered from gardengrocer.com, and hit the parks early.

This to me is the secret. I like to either do a late breakfast or early lunch as a sit down. I prefer something quick like yogurt in the morning! While others are sitting down to breakfast, I can be sitting on a ride. awesome One day, I will go to WDW with only my DH and we may do a real breakfast or two. When we rented a villa, I cooked breakfast every morning.

Welcome, again. I just realized you are from LI. I grew up in Greenlawn. My brother teaches in Islip. My SL is an ELA teacher on the Island too. Teachers definitely need some magic in their lives.

I agree. I'm not a big breakfast food lover anyways, so DH and I just packed muffins and poptarts in our suitcase for quick breakfasts in the morning to eat while we were waiting for the bus.
