Hello! I just joined! :)

mickey Hello everyone! My name is Becky! I am actually going on my first "adult" or "without my family" Disney trip with one of my best friends for Spring Break next month, so I was looking up "tips and tricks" and came across this website! I just had to join. I am so excited to experience Disney in a new way--on our own! It'll be different, but I'm sure it'll be fun no matter what. (I mean, it's Disney.. it's ALWAYS fun!)

So nice to meet all of you other Disney fanatics! I am pretty excited about finding a site where I can splurge about my Disney obsessions and stories as well as hear about yours and find out new tips about things!

P.S. Anything you suggest I do while I'm there? I'd love to hear some suggestions as it's the first time that I get to make my own itinerary without my parents doing all the planning/organizing. Thanks! Smile

Well, what plans to you have already? Where are you staying? Have you made any dining reservations?

welcome beckyboo013!! I'm a newbie and I love it here. I'm sure you will, too!

Eat at at your favorite restaurant, try out the new fun attractions, like Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Downtown Disney (I've heard the food is great there), make sure you do one night at Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk (sooo much fun - I miss going there with friends!!) and have a nice Avocado Margarita (so good!) in La Cava del Tequila at the Mexico Pavillion in Epcot.

These are just a few fun suggestions (in my opinion), but basically, just do what YOU want! Even if it means lounging at the Pool one afternoon instead of running around crazy in the crowded parks. Hope this helped a little Smile

Howdy- and welcome! Make time to see some of the live performers in the evening at the Boardwalk. Take lots of pictures- and ask a friendly CM to take your picture somewhere meaningful. Enjoy mickey

Well, what plans to you have already? Where are you staying? Have you made any dining reservations?

My friend put together a loose itinerary for us including the extra magic hours at the parks on the days we're there as long as some of her favorite food places and such. I definitely plan on eating at Be Our Guest, I've heard nothing but great things. I was told the wait may look long, but goes quickly. And apparently we can use our quick service dining there?? Awesome!! I am so excited.. we are only there for 3 nights and 4 days so I just want to get the most out of it. I don't want to hardly see our room at all! Haha! So I was just curious about things like is there a better order of where to go first? which fastpasses to grab first? what are the parks like during the extra magic hours? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm new to the whole making up my own plan thing so I want to make sure I do it right and get a great trip out of it all! Also, I have not made any reservations for anything! Should I?

welcome Beckyboo013. I agree with Mrhub start making ADRs now to make sure that you get the reservations you want. If you are in Epcot make sure that you get Fastpasses for Soarin' and TestTrack. Others will have more suggestions. mickey

welcome

Very exciting to be embarking on your first adults only trip. Where are you staying? Sorry if you mentioned it above and I missed it.

Be Our Guest is quick service for lunch and table service for dinner.

Don't hesitate to go slow and enjoy all the small thing like bench sitting, duck watching, cheese plates, grey goose slushies at France in Epcot. . .

We are very excited! It's the first time I'm going to Disney with just one other person as well, so it'll be easier to agree on decisions I'm sure! Haha! We are staying at All-Star Music -- perfect for college students on a budget! mickey

Oh I have the greatest Soarin' story from when I went to WDW with my family last May... I have to share it with y'all..

Knowing that Soarin' was the new thing at Epcot and hearing so many of my friends tell me how great it was, I made sure it was at the top of my list for when we got to Epcot. I was the only one in my family that was dead set on riding this ride... the rest of them just wanted to get to drinking around the world. When we got to the front of the line it said "Wait time: 160 minutes. No fast passes available." Immediately my family rejected waiting in a line that was 160 minutes. I was heart-broken. We started walking through the countries and I just kept thinking to myself how badly I wanted to experience Soarin' while we were here. By the time we reached Japan, I announced to my family that I was ditching them! They looked at me like I was crazy and I started power-walking through the rest of the countries! I made a quick pitstop in Mexico and grabbed a strawberry margarita (YUM!) I chuggged it as I power-walked to Soarin' and by the time I reached the front of the line I was more than halfway done my margarita and a little buzzed. It said "Wait time: 180 minutes." I sighed. I asked the cast member if I could please finish my drink while I waited in line, and she frowned and said I'm sorry, but you can't. I looked down at my cup all sad and was just about to turn to throw it away when she asked more cheerfully, "Wait, are you by yourself?" I replied, "Yep! I left my family in Japan just soI could ride this before we left! Haha!" She smiled and said, "Do you want a fast pass?! I have just one extra!" and she pulled it from her pocket!!!! I think I jumped up and down and even hugged her! LOL! I was so excited! I chugged the rest of my drink, got in line, and was on and off the ride within 10 minutes!!!!!! My family could not believe it when I returned back to them in Italy. I think it was one of the greatest park experiences I've ever had! (I still have yet to experience Soarin' while sober, but I gotta say, it's pretty hilarious and awesome when you're a little buzzed off of a Mexico margarita! hahaha!) laugh

Oh how exciting! Congratulations! I'll definitely post about how our trip goes on here. I've just started setting up my itinerary on the "My Disney Experience" app, and I have to say it is REALLY cool! I've never used it before and it seems like it will be a great help since it shows info. like wait times for rides, times for shows, parades, etc. and you can even make reservations on it. Highly recommend trying out this app to anyone who hasn't! Smile

Has anyone ever gone in March before? I haven't, so I don't know what to expect. How bad are the crowds? What's the weather like? Also, I'm excited to see the beautiful flower set-up for the Flower & Garden Festival. I've only seen pictures but it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Welcome, Becky!!

The Flower and Garden Festival is GORGEOUS...a beautiful time of year to go! I would recommend layers of clothing, especially if you're starting out at rope drop or doing morning Extra Morning Hours and aren't planning to go back to the hotel to change. It can be cool in the mornings, so light jacket/sweater weather (IMO), and then will likely to warm up to be quite warm in the afternoons. May have some rain, though, so be prepared for that, too. Grab some ponchos at Walmart before your trip so you don't have to pay Disney Poncho prices when you get there!

We're glad you found us! Looking forward to hearing more about your plans!

welcome beckyboo! We were so thrilled to have been able to eat at BOG back in December! It was a treat! Throughout your dinner the Beast is introduced and he walks through the dining room. Afterwards you can go and have your picture taken with him too. I've attached the picture with my family! I hope you have a wonderful time!
