Hello- New to this forum but not to my beloved WDW

Good morning fellow Disney Enthusiasts! mickey
My Husband and I live near WDW and we have FL resident seasonal passes. We had (for the most part) a wonderful Disneymoon at POR in April last year. We are planning an anniversary trip back to the Polynesian (4 nights-a gracious gift from dear friends).

Here comes the STRESS FIESTA crossfingers due to a LOT of real estate nightmares, we are selling our current house & moving into a newer (and more affordable) home nearby....Our newer home closing has been pushed back to (possibly) 2 weeks before the trip.

Arrrgh!I know that the "adult" decision amongst financial/emotional stress & moving would be to push the trip back to the fall- but my heart aches for some Poly/WDW R&R and to spend some glorious days with my sweet Husband relaxing after our move concludes muchlove . Sighhhhhhh. I'm praying for the best results but facing some tough weeks ahead (also with a lot of job stress).

I guess I will be skulking about the forums enjoying pictures after days spent packing and doing all I can to make things go smoothly. Thanks for reading my post!

welcome 2CatsRuleMyCasa. You know if you can swing it, I think going to the House of Mouse will help to alleviate the stress your currently under. Of course we are enablers and will encourage a trip anytime. laugh

Hi and welcome. I can't think of a better way to celebrate a move than to head to WDW. As long as you have the essentials done, boxes can wait!

YES! Bring on the Poly!! I'm with Pirate and Finn...I think it will do you both some good to get away from the real world for awhile!

It sounds like you guys are upbeat kind of folks, calling your trip the Stress Fiesta is HILARIOUS! There's a lot to be said for PMA! Smile

Where you y'all like to eat when you're there? Have you made any ADRs so far??

Thanks Pirate Girl, Finn Girl & Nancy,
The 2nd Disneymoon ADR's are money saving lunches (so far): Yak & Yeti for the yummy wonton soup, prix fixe lunch at Le Chefs de France, Le Cellier, 50's Prime Time, and one day before the trip we will venture to MK for a lunch at The Plaza.
I may surprise my sweetheart with a dinner at Kona. I did the lunch ADR's to be financially conservative & that way we can have quick service lighter dinners, possibly at Captain Hooks.
We will be seeing Fantasmic (neither one of us have done that before, even though I've stayed on property lots of times & he has twice), the Main Street Electrical Parade & we plan on arriving early for Illuminations on our anniversary night. muchlove

Hi fellow cat lover!

Welcome to the greatest Disney board around!

To help ease the stress, perhaps you could start now boxing up items you aren't presently using--things like holiday decorations, summer wear, small knick-knacks, etc.

welcome

DH and I took our 1 year anniversary trip to the World this past October, exactly 2 weeks after our official move in date to our first house...so I know exactly how you feel! I'm what my husband calls a "completianist" meaning that once I start something, I have to complete it before I'll stop working on it. Whenever we have moved into apartments in the past, I had everything unpacked, put away, decorated, etc. by that night (even if I stay up all night to do it) because I don't like to stop until the job is done. I just had to remind myself with the house that we were on a tight schedule and I needed to chill out a little bit. I got all the essentials unpacked before our trip and saved decorating and what not until we got home. The vacation was actually a really nice break from all the house stress!

Hope you have a fantastic time on your trip and can't wait to hear all about it!

Awww, I am very happy/amazed at how sweet all of you are. A heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation for all of the kind words from all of you wonderful Disney friends!! mickey We have boxed up/donated a LOT of stuff (and I'm on a first name basis with the Goodwill donation center people).
I'm going to take the advice on getting the major moving done & letting the decorating go until after we return home from WDW. Our new house won't have a view of WDW fireworks, but it is about 5 minutes closer to the happiest place on earth wink
Thanks and may you all be richly blessed with love & WDW fun!

To a fellow cat person!

I agree with those who posted before me: Go on your trip. The unpacking etc. can wait.

Now for the important stuff. Tell me about your cats!

Yes, yes, cat tales. I'll start:

I have two, Tiger (aka "Bucket," because he is as big as one), 18 lb grey tabby, 13 years old, eats only Iams dry cat food for "weight management" (HA), a big teddy bear that sleeps on top of my body every night (can't roll over);

and Gracie, solid black, green eyes, very skittish but loving, only 11-12 lbs, also 13 years old, runs around like crazy, throws toy mice up in the air while on her back hind legs, and hates to share my attention with her brother. mickey

Heeheehee Bucket laugh Sounds exactly like Boots- my grey 13 year old tabby. He's on the Iams weight control, too. He has white "boots" and a white "2 piece bikini" that he doesn't like me pointing out.
He monopolizes the counter while I try to do my makeup in the morning & makes me turn on the water for his own "cat fountain". waiting He also climbs the interior wooden door frames & races up & down the hall if I don't wake up early on the weekends. eek

We also have Navin, a 5 year old all black long haired sweetheart with an affinity for leaping at toys or bubbles. he is pretty sweet & quiet- except for his loud snores that are too dang cute. Navin's weird hangup- he has Ginsu razor claws that he employs on his worst sworn enemy- any kind of fruit. My daily banana at work sometimes has tic tac toe marks carved on it,sigh.
I had to plan the cat sitter before the ADR's, of course! Big smile

absolutely! Cat sitter always comes first, right crazycatperson? mickey

And I must confess, I LOVE my time in the World, but I miss those crazy felines while I am gone every time. And we will not talk about what they do to me when I return - oh, the shunning. sad

Darn right, the cat sitter comes first. We've already got ours lined up for our April trip.

I think about my kitties all during my trips, also. But mine (mostly) don't shun when we return. They glue themselves to me for hours and even days.

Wowza!! Cat AND WDW people like me? I've found my peeps for sure! awesome

Boots doesn't shun me when we get back from trips- Navin gets extra clingy for a few days after initially being distant the first day. I think that's his more recent memory of being in kitty jail (the shelter we adopted him from).

They're adorable!!! They either look like they're having a conversation or the kitty on the right is getting ready to smack the other one! laugh

They are discussing how often their mom goes away to visit mice instead of staying home with them. mickey
