Hello from South Dakota!

Hello everyone! My name is Emmalee (my user name is probably a dead giveaway) and I'm born, raised, and still live in South Dakota. I found this forum in 2012 when preparing for my first trip to Disney World - it was a birthday surprise and I found out I was going about 20 days before the plane took off so it was quite the whirlwind! But hearing what other people with no children do on their trips was awesome; not many traveling blogs seems to care about adults going on their own. Thank you all so much for sharing your joy and expertise on WDW with the world.

My first trip happened quite suddenly and I was tagging along with friends, all of whom had been to WDW many times. This was ... perhaps not the ideal way to be introduced to the World! I had a lot of fun in the four days I was there - I was spoiled to be going during F and W Festival and the MNSSHP - but now I'm planning another trip for the beginning of February of 2014. So exciting! I'll be traveling with my friend, who is a CM from Disneyland (or I wouldn't be able to afford such a trip!) and he's leaving the planning up to me since this will be his 11th trip there and he knows that I'm an obsessive planner anyway. I'm so excited to jump into the topics and figure out the best way to fill my week with as much magic as possible. Thank you all in advance for your help!

stars welcome stars February is a great time to visit with nice weather and lower crowd levels. Will you be staying on site? Have you made any dining reservations?

Thank you everyone! We are going to be staying onsite since I want to get as much magic as possible! Right now we will be staying at the Caribbean Beach resort (more due to the awesome discount than my choice). Although the beach motif will be a great getaway from the mounds and mounds of snow we're sure to have here by then. I have read some reviews that were not entirely complimentary about the resort so if anyone has stayed there feel free to reassure me! wink

I'm looking forward to making dining reservations but the only one I really wanted was to splurge outrageously at Victoria and Albert's which is, of course, completely booked. So I'll be checking that one every oh, you know, five minutes or so just in case and combing the Dining forum for some good ideas Smile My last trip was with three very whiny vegans so there are so many places I'm excited to try!

Be sure to call Disney Dining. They can see reservations that we may not be able to see online. Be sure to read the dress code for Victoria and Albert's. A friend told me that you don't want to be that guy who didn't wear a tie (in case there is a guy coming with you).

welcome

We've stayed at CBR twice and loved it. Although the amount we loved it was directly related to how close to Tortuga and the main pool and the food court we were. So keep that in mind.

Hi and welcome emmalee! We stayed at CBR our last vacation and while we didn't totally love it, there wasn't anything super negative about it that stood out to me. The only downside was all of the bus stops which felt like the took forever after a long day at the parks. Other then that, we just weren't totally blown away with the theming but it was a perfectly fine resort!

Nancy - finally booked my plane ticket today. I will be flying in on the 1st of Feb, although arriving too late to do anything but check in and crash into bed. Then I have six glorious full days before I leave (at dawn - the perils of Hotwire) on the 8th. So exciting ... now that I'm committed I'll have to get one of those signature tickers! yay
