HELP--I'm a Disneyholic!!!

Hi all,
I'm new here, but not to WDW as my grandparents lived nearby. I have been going to WDW since it first opened--does anyone else remember 50,000 Leagues Under The Sea at WDW?
I am a HUGE Walt fan dating way back to the black/white days of Mickey Mouse Club every day at 5:00pm.
When I first retired I decided to treat myself to a real first class vacation--at WDW, of course--and spent 11 glorious days at the AKL on the deluxe dining plan. Back then the deluxe plan included all tours and 3 sit-downs every day. We did 10 tours (AND the Dolphin Encounter which was not included in the free tours), had 3 sit-downs every day, AND still managed to get in some rides!
My next trip is for the Food/Wine Festival. I can't wait as last year was my first during that event and we only got a little "taste" (pun intended!) of it. This year will be jam packed with demonstrations, tastings, special luncheons, special events, pin trading (ALWAYS!), and samplings of many national foods.
After reading many of the posts, this group sounds great and I can't wait to share my love of Disney with all of you! mickey

Hello Patti and welcome it's fantastic to have you join us.

I think several off us around here remember 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at WDW, you're in good company!

I LOVE Food & Wine Festival! This will be my third year going and I'm really looking forward to it. I think fall is my favorite season at WDW, if I have to pick just one that is.

Oh the dolphin encounter sounds so cool! Did you enjoy it?

Hello and welcome!!

Admitting your addiction is a great first step. Surrounding yourself with a bunch of enablers just makes it that much more fun!!

Hi all,
Hardy109: We will be at the AKL for 14 nights. We have ADRs for: Hollywood & Vine, Fulton's, Le Cellier, Brown Derby, Narcoosies, Crystal Palace, Cape May, and Fulton's again. The other 6 dinners will be at the booths at Epcot. We're doing 15 different culinary demonstrations ranging from crab to pastry (and everything in between!) We're also doing several special events including Party for the Senses, 3D Dessert, Sweet Sunday, Chocolate, the new Chef Tours, and the lunch/Wine pairing at Tutto Gusto. The other 7 days will be spent at the other parks or downtown.
Kristen: The dolphin encounter was really special. We learned all about them including diet before we actually got in the water with them. They had learned to respond to hand signals and they came right over to us. The dolphin swam right into our arms which were formed in a large circle in front of us for the picture!
mrhub: Thanks SO much for taking the time to bring me back to yesteryear with the video of the 20,000 Leagues! I was sitting here watching saying, "Yes, that's IT!!", during the entire voyage. Yes, it was 20,000 not 50,000 Leagues--old age, you know! I love your sense of humor. I was last there in May of this year for the Flower & Garden Festival.

Ah we may have crossed paths, we were there the last week of May! Im 51 myself and have the foggy memory too at times. Your very welcome for the throwback video, that was the last voyage we took on 20,000 Leagues, it closed that year I think.

So happy to have you with us!

And I Agree With JeffC. . . . We are all enablers here and feed off of each other's addictions and compulsions!!! The more the merrier.

AND I remember the after school Mickey Mouse Club in black and white. . . Spin and Marty Rule! mickey

Welcome, from another newbie!

I loved 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! And I was so sad when they took it out. I also miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, but I'm looking forward to the new additions that are underway.

We'll be there again in December, but I'm also looking forward to my first Solo Trip (2014, with luck).

Again, welcome and I'm sure you'll find, as I have, just how friendly these folks are!

Well, welcome to WDW for Grownups, Hawklady!! Food and Wine is a GLORIOUS thing, and the weather is just right!!

Have you taken a look at the booths and their offerings this year over on Disney Food Blog? They have a really neat, comprehensive guide to F&W over there, including menus from the booths!
