Help plan our 10th Wedding Anniversary Trip!

So DH and I are going pretty much 1 year from today (11/10/11) for 10 days. We are hopefully going with 2 other couples, their length of stay is tbd, but 1 couple will only be 4 or 5 days for sure.

DH and I are staying at POFQ for the first time. No ressie yet, thinking I'm going to AAA to get the room only ressie discount and if free dining comes out we'll switch to a package.

We wanted to do a Vow Renewal, but DFTW is way over priced for it.

Thinking of doing an hour resort photo shoot.

Definetly eating at Boma and want to try 1900 Park Faire for the first time.

Will hit all 4 parks. Ak is our favorite, Epcot is another couples fav and the other couple doesn't really care where we go.

I'm guessing F&W is still going on then? What about xmas decorations?

What should we do, not miss etc? Thinking of maybe doing the watersprites one day.

Obviously it's too early to pick what park on each day, but what would you do?

Well Katrina, sounds like your going to have a whirl wind of a trip with so much to do, but if your going to be there for 10 days, you got plenty of time to hit all 4 parks with time to spare.

Have you been to WDW with the other couples?

Yes , the Vow Renewals are way over priced IMO, but if people want that "Magical Moment" bad enough, and they got the money, they will pay for it & Disney is in the business to make money.

The photo shoot sounds great, I know Scrappy would like to do that at sometime also.

Boma is great, just ate there ourselves for the first time in Oct. for breakfast it was great.

Food & Wine Festival for next year will be September 28-November 11, 2012, so you wont get much of that in. Christmas decorations should be going up shortly after that I would think.

We always say we are going to do the water sprites, but haven't had the chance yet.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll have a ball!

Thanks mrhub!

I did the watersprite once in 97 when I did the grand plan and they were included, we did a pontoon boat too. I've always wanted to do the sprites again.

Boma's a must for us. Breakfast and Dinner.

We've never been to disney with other couples, so definetly need some pointers on that one. One couple used to post on here, caitiesus and teacherdrama, so they are uber disney people too. The other couple is more normal, lol.

You will LOVE staying at POFQ! Such a romantic resort. We stayed there last May and had a great time. The rooms were just refurbished so everything was new! Having queen beds was a major plus. The longest we had to wait for a bus was 5 min. They made no other stops to any other resort, that was nice.

The resort's landscaping is beautiful. The trees that canopy the cobblestone streets are gorgeous!

Hi Katrina and Happy 9th Anniversary! We just celebrated our 10th last month - no trip for us, alas. So I'll live vicariously through you! muchlove

So, I think it sounds wonderful and terrific! If you haven't been for F&W, I might suggest bumping your trip up by a week or so. If you like to eat, it's definitely worth checking out, and sometimes the tail end of the Fest isn't its best showing (they run out of stuff.) You should start seeing decorations, though. I don't know about Epcot, but they must already have MK decorated, since MVMCP is going on.

Let's see...are you looking for romance, or just tips? Since you're staying at POFQ anyway, you might want to do a carriage ride if you haven't already. I hear they are wonderful.

I guess other than that, maybe surprise Hubs with an in room amenity? And casually let your friends and relatives all know about the cool amenities that Disney does, so you might get a surprise too Smile

I can't wait to hear about your planning. Say hello to Caitie and Jason. And congrats on 9 years AND your trip!

When I was there last year for the last weekend of the F&W fest, the Christmas trees were up at Epcot. I have a couple pictures of Christmas topiaries taken a couple of days later. I'm not sure if they were there when I was at the festival. I'll try to remember to see if other decorations are up this weekend.

Happy anniversary!!

Thanks JoAnn.

It'd be super cool to be able to hit F&W and Xmas stuff in the same time.
