Help Us Pick Lunch At Sunshine Seasons!

Food is clearly on my brain today Smile

So as I mentioned in another post, it looks like we're spending Saturday at WDW! We'll probably spend some time at AK, but I'd like to get in a meal at Sunshine Seasons (I'm trying to start hitting all the places y'all rave about.) What are some of your faves here? I recently read that the strawberry shortcake is not to be missed.

Thanks!

We ate there in November for the first time. It was really good and their is so much to choose from. I got one of the Chinese meals but don't remember which one off the top of my head... The dessert was really good but don't remember which one it was either... Maybe if I had a menu I would remember... Lol

We've only eaten there once and got a couple of the Asian stir-fries. They were awesome!

I had the Turkey and Monterey Jack Cheese on Foccacia last time we were there and enjoyed it.

But I think you should try either the Oak-fired Rotisserie Chicken or the Slow-roasted Pork Chop with Cheddar mashed potatoes and BBQ sauce - because I want to try one of them in April and want to know if they are any good! laugh

Why thank you!

The inner potty-mouth Lizzy B. is probably saying not-nice things about me at this moment...

I can tell you from experience that the rotisserie chicken is AMAZING! when we were working at Disney, me and my roommates would go to Sunshine Seasons all the time just to get the chicken & mashed potatoes because it felt like 'home-cooked' food!

Haha - but I LOVE your recommendations! That sounds so amazing! - Thanks, Jessi, for confirming! And Melissa, I think I will totally try the strawberry shortcake. Strawberries are in season down here (reason #5689 to live in FL) so I bet it will be yum!

The REST of the story...

Hubs completely changed the plans up on me, and we ended up at AK for the morning, lunch at Earl of Sandwich, and afternoon/evening at Epcot. I did spend some time perusing Sunshine Seasons while DH and DD were on Soarin', but we were soo full. That strawberry shortcake looked amazing! And everything smelled so good. We definitely have to make eating there a priority the next time.

Sunshine Seasons is one of my most favorite places to eat. I tend to get the Asian stir fry more than anything else there, mainly because they are cooked fresh and usually are not sitting under a heat lamp very long.

My only complain is the portion. Sometime the amount is puny compare to what one pays for (~$9). They need to be a bit more generous with the portion. They could learn from Panda Express.

BTW, if you drink just water, note that there are water dispensers at the soda fountain. Instead of getting bottled water and pay a nice chunk of change, get a cup with ice and fill it with water. It is free! Save money here so you can spend it elsewhere!

Zz.

Ohh DH. Ruining plans.

I never knew they had Asian stuff before..the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Jasmine Rice is calling my name.

It doesn't seem fair that on any give trip you may eat 3-4 meals at Epcot but there are 8 restaurants I want to eat at..but then when you are at MGM there is no where to eat. At least that's how it is for me anyway.
