Hess station by Boardwalk

When I searched for this topic I saw a thread about it possibly being closed or renovated. Can anyone tell me if it's open again? We are staying at Boardwalk in September and were thinking of walking over to pick up some snacks and beer.

Also, what do they sell snack wise? Any fruit by chance? Would it be worth the walk over to grab a case of beer and some snacks ( hoping for apples, oranges, bananas) or should we just buy it at the resort?

Hess stations at WDW have been converted to Speedway. Yes, they will have snacks, beer, fruit etc. Every Speedway station I have ever been to have oranges, apples and bananas. There is a Speedway station about a block and a half from where I live. I work for the company that owns Speedway and have been anxiously awaiting the conversions!!

We walk over to the Hess station the first morning every trip, to purchase soda and snacks for the room. Much cheaper than the Screen Door General Store on the Boardwalk. Same would be true for beer. Pretty sure the Boardwalk station has already been converted to a Speedway, so shouldn't be an issue in Sept.

Same is true here on the west coast of Florida - all of the Hess stations have been converted to Speedway.

Ha ha, Ken they actually put few Wawa's around WDW finally. That's a local store for us up here. They have good stuff.

Smile Just got back from Wegmans. Seriously, I'll send you every single one of them. You can have them. On the other hand I've never even heard of Wawa. Sounds interesting!

Nope, we don't have the Turkey Hills around here locally, but I have been in them.

Wawa is just one of our local convenience stores around here, I wouldn't call them "amazing", but most of them are pretty nice. They specialize in hoagies, but they have a lot more and most sell gas now too and is cheaper than most other gas stations around us. I won't even step foot in a Seven-Eleven anymore.
