Hi everyone!

Hi! My name is Caitie and I found this site through twitter and am glad I did. I have a couple Disney sites that I love, but I have recently stopped going to a non-Disney board and was looking for something new. I have found that the people on the Disney boards are so much nicer!

Hm about me...

I am a senior in college and am graduating in 2 months and 7 days (but who is counting?). I am a publishing major.

I am getting married on August first and will be in WDW on August 2nd for honeymoon part 1! We are staying at the Contemporary (MK view thanks to the deals). It will be a big upgrade since our first trip together when we stayed at All-Star Music!

We are huge fans of the dining plan, so you may see me post about food a lot Smile.

I guess that is it since I never know what to put in these...

I look forward to talking to all of you!

Hiya Catie! Welcome!

welcome

We pride ourselves on being nice, even for a Disney board, so you shouldn't have any trouble on that front. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Is there a part 2 to the honeymoon? Or does that come in the future?

The admin just finished a trip that was 1/2 Contemporary so you should check it out here:

http://www.wdwforgrownups.com/forum/index.php?tid=457

There are some nice pics in there but sadly she's barely literate, so you won't be able to glean much info. The rest of the users are much more coherent.

P.S. publichin took me a while to figure out!

Welcome Catie! Graduation, Marriage and a Disney World trip all in quick succession? That's quite a couple of months!

Glad to hear you might talk about dining nearly as much as I do, since it's almost the only subject I am qualified to discuss.

Of course I have a typo in my first post. Can you tell I wrote two papers today and my brain is fried?

We do have a honeymoon part 2, we are going on a Carnival cruise (I have never done one before) to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and...I always forget the last one.

We are so excited about the Disney trip. This is the first time either of us is staying at a deluxe resort, so we are VERY excited.

My fiancee just joined today also, he is teacherdrama if you see him around

Hi, it's me!

Cozumel, honey - we're going to Cozumel Smile

Though OK, I admit, the cruise has seemed almost secondary behind trying to figure out the restaurants for Disney at this point!

I'm excited about the whole thing though.

Oh, and hi, I'm teacherdrama. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome guys! Are we invited to the wedding?

I think you guys are making a very wise decision. I've taken ALL of my honeymoons at Disney World, and those worked out quit.....ummm..... nevermind.

Seriously, this is a great board (growing too!),with lots of fun people. We carry on a bit, and I'm SURE the prospects of a honeymoon couple on board will only add fuel to the fire!!

crossfingers <- what NOT to do while taking the vows! ok?

All right, well I gave Caitie the chance....

We have 5/6 picked already and are still working on the sixth. Note - we were at the World two years ago together, so we're trying to find a place we don't know.

We're going to The Wave, Marrakesh, Boma (my favorite), Ohana (Caitie's favorite), and Le Celier for sure.

As you can see, we like to try more exotic foods on our time in Disney - so any suggestions...we're considering among others Jiko, Spoodles, and Sanaa...

It's too soon still for the ADRs unfortunately since they changed to 90 days out...

I really enjoy Jiko, and definitely consider it one of the more romantic restaurants there. Of course for the money there are several restaurants that are as good. Depends on if ambiance or food is your primary concern. If you go to Jiko I highly recommend the ribs!

We're doing the dining plan, so money isn't really a concern if it's on the plan. I'm open to just about any kind of food - Caitie is a little pickier, but she's willing to try some new stuff. Jiko may be it... Smile

If Jiko is one meal, which I seem to recall it is, then I think it's a great option. Most of the restaurants I find comparably enjoyable are two meal restaurants.

As it is we're filling all our days and probably paying for Biergarten for lunch one day since we've never gone there either.

You gave me a chance? Even though you knew I worked until five then had class until 9:30....Thanks!

Jiko sounds good...but it is two credits so I guess it is out Sad

Any other ideas? We were both leaning towards it...but with everything we want to try using two isn't worth it!

I can tell I like this board already...

There are several places in EPCOT that are semi-romantic. I think the San Angel Inn is really nice, except I'm not wild about the food. Others disagree though. Chefs De France can be nice as well.
