Hi everyone!

Hi, I am Marie and am new to this site... I went to WDW for the first time in 2010 and have not been able to get it out of my mind... I am single with 2 grown boys, my oldest has a family and we have tried to plan a second trip back there, then my newest grandson was born, so now we will wait a little longer for him to get older before we all go together as a family again... But I cannot wait... So, I am thinking of going solo and the more I think of it, the more I can't wait!!

welcome

I haven't done a complete solo trip but I had a few solo days before my friends arrive. I agree with disneydoc. Don't wait for others, just go.

Do it...Do it...Do it... You should so do a solo trip, then you can be refreshed on all you want to do when the family trip comes time! I think a solo trip would be fun, and I know Disney Doc sure knows how to do it right, she's a pro.
Welcome, you've found the perfect site with the nicest people around who are happy to help you plan and share advice!

Hi Pregom,

To find all of my solo trip reports, just click on "forums" then select "trip reports." I have a few there, and there also some really great ones by other members that are not solo, but are helpful and fun for us mouse lovers.

Glad you have joined us. awesome

thank you!! So glad I found this site!!
So far I am looking at the moderate resorts for April, May of next year... Having a hard time deciding between the carribean and the Port Orleans Riverside.. Love the boats to DTD.. My first and only trip was in 2010 at the Bay Lakes Towers...
So spoiled being in the monorail lines... I don't know how to compete with that!!

Definitely POR - my DH and I find the food there much better than at CBR and yes, the boats to DTD are a nice change, although you can still take the bus. We would often take the bus there and come back on the boat. POR is beautiful and we especially love Alligator Bayou.
We are staying at Boardwalk Inn in September for the first time, but I expect we will be returning to POR with one of our future trips. Good for you to go solo - not sure if I could do that.

awesome

I vote for POR as well. Welcome to the site!! Go solo!! For me, being solo sometimes really allows me to just get caught up in all the magic that is Disney and forget there's a real world out there!!

I also google Disney at work. I've been known to say, when it's really stressful, that I just need some Disney in my life before going back to whatever problem is the issue du jour!! I think you'll find a lot of good advice on this forum!

I've heard wonderful, wonderful things about both POR and POFQ, especially the smaller layout of POFQ!

Magic Mirror: I think it is going to be the POR, I am getting a good many nods toward that resort... I have not been on vacay since wow 2010, This is the only place where my heart truly wants to go, so If no-one is ready just yet, I will go on my own!!! I am truly excited, Hate plane rides but that is ok...the destination makes it worth it!!

Most of us will also attest to our friends and family thinking we are crazy too! These are folks who think that Disney is only the rides at MK. But we know better. biggrin

LoL... You can't. You just have to appreciate each unique resort for what it does offer. POR has great bus service and you can always hop the boat down to Downtown Disney. I think you're going to have a great time!

I've done Disney solo, with family, with friends - there's always magic no matter how you experience it!

Hi and welcome and congrats on your plans for an upcoming solo trip! How fun! I'll vote for POR or POFQ as well even though I've never stayed at either. I've heard great things about both and we weren't super impressed with CBR when we were there last October.
