How do we get from MK to GF without a loooooong bus ride?

Hi

We have reservations at Narcoossee at 7:35 and we will be spending the day at MK. What is the most efficient way to get from one to the other and how soon should we leave MK? After dinner, we return to POFQ, so the same question in return.
(I love him to death, by DH will ask a bus driver (always kind) but it seems we have 2 hour bus rides!!!!)

We have done the trip from AK to AKL for Boma's and that one too seems long, but the worst is the ride back. The only real difference is we are at a different resort this time, so it's.....different.

I am being very over-prepared but if I don't have this in my plans, there won't be any plans! crossfingers

Thanks again to this wonderful site and all the people who adore Disney as much as I do. You all make this journey sooooo much easier.

From the MK to GF I suggest the Monorail or boat. Time wise - once you're on the monorail it will take about 15 minutes, then another 5-10 walking to Narcossee's depending on how fast you're moving. Once you're on the boat I think it's a 5-10 minute ride.

Returning to your hotel afterwords, if you want to take Disney transportation you should hop the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom and then take the bus back to your hotel. If you want something more direct you can always have the Grand Floridian valet hail you a cab and take that directly back to POFQ.

Take the boat from MK to GF. The boat docks right outside of Narcossee at GF.

Regardless of which you choose, I would plan a good 30 minutes from the time you walk out of the MK gate before you walk into the restaurant, if not just a few minutes more.

Based on Narcoossees location, I would take the boat to GF. The ambiance will be nicer and without racing boat vs. monorail, I think it is slightly faster to take the boat. The MK-->GF boat sometimes does a loop that includes Polynesian, but our experience has been that the Polynesian stop occurs after the boat drops off guests at GF.

I wholeheartedly agree with transferring back to MK to get a bus since it won't be close to park closing. In theory, we think that taking a bus to DTD from the monorail resorts and then boating back up to POR is nice. It would be more time consuming, but if you're planning to go to DTD that night anyway, it's can be convenient. However, we have had terrible luck to hitting the DTD buses at GF and Poly--to the point where on more than one occasion we have waited 20 minutes, given up, and monorailed to MK to get a bus to our resort anyway. It might work for you since you'll be done a little earlier, but at park closing, we feel like they might sacrifice DTD bus transportation at the monorail resorts to divert more buses to MK. Just a theory based on anecdotal evidence. It doesn't seem smart to do that because if people want to shop, Disney will typically want to assist them in their shopping pursuits, but it's possible.

Definitely take the boat launch. GF will be your first stop.

If you take the resort monoral, you will have to go all the way around, with GF being the last stop before you make a complete loop back to MK.

Love the pictures and all the specific details. You guys are amazing! ( I printed those out for my husband so he can "be in charge").

Actually when we get out of dinner, MK will be closed as it is one of the nites where fireworks at at 9 and our reservations are at 7:30. But we can go back to the Transportation hub right and catch bus from there? We depend on Disney mass transit for everything. There isn't a boat for that too? Just the buses? crossfingers
