How do you FastPass?

We totally abuse the FastPass system..ok..abuse is the wrong word..but we use it to it's total potential. We rarely wait in line for e-ticket rides..if we do it's only when the line is really short.

Do you use the FastPass often? If you do..how do you FastPass? Are you an occasional FastPasser or do you have a strategic plan when you FP?

I think I would like to hear your tips LOL
We usually head for the rides we want first, and check out the regular line up, if ther is no real wait time we don't bother wiht the fast pass and head to the nest one.

Since we usually go during the slower times we rarely ever use it. We do sometimes have to use it for Soaring and Toy Story.

I agree with scrappy, the only fastpasses we ever take advantage of are TSMM and Soarin and of course the time we go has a lot to do with it, it is always the slow times of the year.

We used to feel this way, but "slow times" has gotten so unpredictable that we use them pretty regularly now. We'd never go near the parks in the summer, but we still sometimes hit heavy weeks in the off-season, so we tend to collect fastpasses. Plus, like you said there's almost no such thing as riding TSMM or Soarin' without a FP.

Maybe once in an EMH we rode Soarin' without a FP.

We use them all the time. 'Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it', I always say. Not like you have to go far out of your way to grab 'em. For the record we have used every one we've ever gotten but one. Had a BTMRR FP that didn't get used last year because we rode it over and over again with no wait then other funsies caught out attention when it was FP time.

We usually like to grab an FP for a favorite ride as soon as we get into the park, then head to another favorite ride while we wait for the FP time to open. A classic strategy, and a good one!

My favorite strategy is to grab a FastPass and use anytime after your FP time (during THAT day). So many people think you have to rush back between such and such time but as long as it's after your time the CM's let you go.
A woman I know (not a friend at all) once told me that doing that was akin to making a dentist appointment and showing up 3 hours later. Not exactly the same at all.

We use that system too.
If the wait time is more than 30mins in early December, we'll grab a fastpass and come back later.

This is a fun tip that we DO take advantage of. We'll try to make it back during the fastpass return time, but if we can't, we don't sweat it. We'll just return and use it later.

We tend to collect way more fastpasses than we actually use. We always bring home a collection.

If I have a fast pass that I have decided not to use, I try to give it to someone going into the standby queue.

We did the same thing last time Tony, I know you aren't supposed to do nice things to make yourself feel good but it made me feel good anyway LOL

I tried and tried to give away our BTMRR FP's, but nobody wanted them! I guess all the people I asked already knew there was zero wait.

We give them away if we KNOW we won't use them, but we often tell ourselves fictions like we're going to come back later in the day. So we hang on to them just in case. We've had pretty good luck giving them away whenever we've tried. We usually give them to someone who's just walking into the park.

You can do this, really? I'd be so nervous that the CM would notice I was late and not let me in. And then I'd be pissed that I missed my chance!

Don't believe the ticket. They'll take them any time on the same day. We've done it literally probably a hundred times and no one has ever said anything.

Is there a limit to how many FP's you can get in one day or per trip or whatnot?

There's only a limit to how many you can get at one specific TIME (as you know -- you can only have one at a time unless there are "unlinked" rides). But there's no limit to how many you can get over the course of a day or your trip (just the limits of the number of hours in the day biggrin )

You can not get a fast pass for two different rides within the same time period. At least not during the busy times of the year. Once those times expire, you can get another one. When we were here in June if you got a fast pass, you could not get another one until the time on the one you had expired.

Rockin,
For some reason I thought that last year we could only have so many. This makes me happy. What are unlinked rides?

Sometimes there are attractions that are not linked into the other fastpass systems. For example, in Disneyland, Grizzly River isn't linked in to the system, so you can get an FP for that while you hold an FP for another ride.

Even after the two-hour rule? (Usually they say that you can get another fastpass after the one you have expires OR after two hours passes since you got the first one)
