how to link to a page without writing the whole address in sig?

I really hope I make sense with my question, i'm not very tech savvy so i'm sure there is probably a better way of explaining myself but forgive me Wink

You see how I have links to my past trip reports in my signature, is there a way to link it by a word or few words? I know when it comes to writing a new topic or post there's a little world that I click on and type the address in there, but is there a way to do it in my signature? would look a lot less messy lol (yes, I have OCD). I could just be being really dim and there be an easy way to do it, if so please can someone talk me through it? if there isn't a way of doing it, would it be really difficult to bring it in?

Hi Robyn,

The trick is to use the following format when creating your signature. The "url=" specifies the actual link but the text outside of the square brackets is what people will see.

You can also use that link tool you refer to when replying to posts to create the entry for you and then copy and paste the text into your signature box in account settings. But it's probably just faster to type it manually.

For example, this is what my signature looks like in account settings:

And this is of course what is ends up looking like:

It looks like the link to the first item isn't working because the title of the thread has changed therefore the URL has changed too.

The original URL was:
http://www.wdwforgrownups.com/forum/our-big-dvc-anniversary-trip-report-september-13

But the thread title has changed and the link should be:

MrHub, I think the issue is that the button does not appear in the account settings page where signatures are created.

Yeah you can do all that in the reply box here, just copy it and don't save it here. I do it all the time.
