Just an FYI:

Boardwalk to Epcot or DHS - walk or boat

Boardwalk to MK or AK - via bus. Bus stop is about 50 yds from Boardwalk lobby

Mase, I wonder if your dad meant to go to another resort? Busses don't run from resort to resort, so maybe he meant you'd have to go over to Epcot if you wanted to get to say Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Wait... what are we talking about? lol

We've stayed at the following:

Ft. Wilderness (Cabins)
SSR (DVC - studio, 1-bedroom, & 2-bedroom)
BWV (DVC - 1-bedroom)
Coronado Springs (my first trip as an adult)

Out of all the ones we've stayed at - we love the Cabins; second best has been SSR.

Hi Tinker Bell Fan!

I'd love to hear more about the Cabins, I'm really curious about them. Did you happen to take any pictures?

Also: welcome

Hi and thanks for the welcome cdub!

Hubby & I stayed there back in 2005. It was hubby's first trip to WDW and he was hooked; I think he was hooked in large part because of the Cabins. He ended up loving WDW so much we became DVC members that trip! yay

It does get dark at night so I advise having a flashlight with you to get from the bus drop off to your cabin. The cabin we were in was awesome but way too big for two people. It has a deck with a picnic table and a grill. Mousekeeping told us to feel free to have a bbq and they would clean up in the morning (all we needed to do was to make sure the fire was out).

Inside the cabin there was a full kitchen, a dining area, and a living room area. The living room had a murphy bed that you could pull down. I think the couch pulled into a bed too but I can't remember. The bedroom was nice - queen size bed and bunk beds. There was also a crib in the closet (along with other stuff like a broom, ironing board, and an iron). The bathroom was very roomy.

I did take some pictures but don't have them with me - I'll add them from home.

I haven't done Jiko but I've done Boma and The Mara. Very good.

Hopefully I can post the pictures of Ft. Wilderness I found.
The first one is of the living room area, the second one is the kitchen and the third is the hallway that leads to the bedroom (the closed door is the bathroom). If I remember correctly we were in 2525 which was a handicap accessible room.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Unfortunately with my budget I am only able to stay in the value resorts. I have not experienced the moderate or the deluxe resorts yet. I stay at Pop Century every time I visit. Once or twice I thought about trying the All Star resorts, but always end up booking Pop. I really like it there.

We've stayed at:

Port Orleans Riverside
Caribbean Beach
Wilderness Lodge
Yacht Club
Port Orleans French Quarter

We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (mansion section) twice. We were in "Oak Manor" and "Acadian House".

We would love to stay sometime at the Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian, and of course my ultimate dream.....The Grand Floridian......LOL!

Port Orleans FQ (twice)

And 59 days from now - The Contemporary (Magic Kingdom View)! Woo Hoo!

David, that's terrific - people absolutely LOVE the Pop! Leave it to Disney to make a value that some people love as much as a deluxe.

Do you stay at the same resort every time, or do you mix it up? How many boxes have you checked off on the scavenger hunt.

I try to mix it up, however that doesn't always happen. Our DVC points are at Animal Kingdom Villas so that tends to be where we end up most often since 2008. I'm an early planner so getting that 11 month reservation is important to me. Smile

I've stayed at:

The Villas (No longer exists, location was where SSR is now)
Grosvenor Resort (Now called Regal Sun we stayed here a lot when I was a kid)
Fort Wilderness
Polynesian
Wilderness Lodge
Grand Floridian
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Saratoga Springs
Disneyland Hotel

Wow this is a toughie cause I've been going to Disney for almost 40 years now.

Let's see:

Poly
Pop
Music
Sports
Port Orleans
Boardwalk
BeachClub
Saratoga Springs
Old Key West
Wilderness Lodge
Campground in the campsites
Disney Institute
Animal Kingdom
Royal Plaza
Buena Vista
Holiday Inn
Bonnet Creek
I guess that's all the onsite stuff and if you count all the off site resorts well then double that.
