How to rotate a picture in a post.

For those people not as "Tech" savvy as others, ( and I'm no IT person myself), I figured I would try and put some instructional threads up to help with any issues people may be having on the forums, so here goes!

It seems like today, everyone is using a smartphone or a tablet to either take pictures or post to forums. Why not, they are small and easy to use and can hold a ton of storage now a days.

One thing that has been noticed lately is that people posting using an iPhone or iPad have been having issues with their pictures not showing up correctly, by this I mean they have been posting sideways or upside down.

I only know this to be happening with Mac/Apple products, but please let me know if anyone is using another product that is doing this also.

For those dealing with this issue, here are a few pointers that might help.

If you're just posting one picture now and then that does this, just post the picture and do the following:

1). Click on the edit button at the bottom right of your post.

2). Save the image to your computer/iPhone/iPad as it is.

3). Edit the picture, rotate it and save it.

4). Re post the picture.

It should be good!

Now if you are going to be posting multiple pictures from your iPad/iPhone, you may want to think about saving your pictures to the Cloud and uploading from there. Pictures seem to show up correctly when uploaded from there.

Any comments, problems or questions, just leave a post. Hope this helps.

My issue has been photobucket. I can upload them all to it, and then go to rotate them in there and either get an error message or it shows it rotated it, then when I link it here, it's back to the original. I think it's a problem for me with photobucket.

Okay, are you saving it as a copy or replacing the original?

Hey Mr. Hub, what about when the picture is really big? Is there a way to fix that? I've seen some TR's where the pics are huge and you can't see the whole thing without scrolling over and even then it doesn't fit on the whole screen.

Hi Karli, yes you just reduce the size of the picture.

In photobucket, you would do that here:

If you're uploading directly from your computer, just use any editing tool you have and reduce the size of your picture and save it as a copy so you don't change the original for printing.

on a Mac you would do it here:
change the number to like 800 pixels and that should suffice.

Replacing the original, when it will let me. Sometimes I can't even get that far, it just errors as soon as I rotate it.

You may need to update your browser, what do you use?

I had a lot of problems when I last used IE. I use Google Chrome now, no problems.

We have IE here at work...that may be the problem.
