Hydration Packs

We just picked up a hydration pack for our next trip, anyone else have any experience with them at Disney? Like where do you fill them up or grab ice for them...

A hydration pack is a type of hydration system built as a backpack or waist pack containing a reservoir or "bladder" commonly made of rubber or flexible plastic. The reservoir contains a capped mouth for filling with liquid and a hose that allows the wearer to drink hands-free. Most hoses end with a "bite valve" that opens when the user bites down on it; the valve may be protected by a dust cover. Some hydration packs are insulated to keep water from freezing or becoming warm. Reservoir sizes commonly range from 1.5 to 3.0 litres.

I can attest that Florida tap water tastes like Splash Mountain.

We use a Camelbak at Disney and other parks and absolutely love it. After doing my customary, exhaustive research I found just the right one for DW (as she wanted to be able to use it for hiking and such also). It is just the right size, designed to better fit a woman's body, and has enough cargo room for our park essentials.

We fill it with ice, then water before we leave the resort. Typically that gives us clean, cold water all day. Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures last year we did refill at a couple times. I would highly recommend using store-bought water and ice. FL tap water tastes funny and like most all municipal water is full of junk. Either buy a couple bags of ice or freeze your own (if you will have a freezer/ice trays). An ice machine would do just fine if you have one at your resort. Be advised the water will taste a bit 'plastic-y' (or rubbery, what-have-you) for some time at first. I suspect you can use it between now and then to mitigate or eliminate that issue.

Sweet, thank you LifL, we keep filling and draining it and is going into a Disney box. We are staying at Pop so the ice machine is easy Smile
We saw a few people walking around with them last year and foudna really nice High Sierra one that he can use for biking and can fit our things in it as well. We are taking a few people that have never been before and I had suggested to find one to go with just in case.
