I finally got to meet Disney Artist David Doss!

After years and years of missing my favorite Disney artist, David Doss, by just weeks or even days, the planets aligned last fall and we were there while he was doing signings at DTD! So I can cross that off my Disney bucket list clapping clapping

Super nice guy (he's on the left). We chatted for about 15 minutes before getting some signatures and pictures.

Hello JeffC! It's so very good to see you.

biggrin I was thinking about you a couple week ago and wondering what you were up to. That's so awesome that you got to meet David finally and cross that off of your bucket list. What else did you do?

Hi Kristen! bighug

It was a pretty standard Jeff and Joe taxed at POFQ, which was splendid as always. We upgraded to a river view room which always makes me happy.

Much as I said we'd take it a little easier this time around, Joe's phone tracker thing said we walked 70 miles by the time we left. That's nuts! But probably totally accurate.

We hit up all the parks and DTD,of course. Highs and lows:

Highs and/or New For Us
1. Well, being at WDW of course!
2. Weather was awesome in October
3. MNSSHP! Is still totally fun and I wore a skeleton t-shirt that glowed in the dark

Hi Kristen! bighug

It was a pretty standard Jeff and Joe trip; stayed at POFQ, which was splendid as always.

4. Meeting David Doss
5. Oh, and we ran into Adele and exchanged pleasantries near the MK restrooms by The Terrace. She was there with her hubby and child, a VIP escort and 2 body guards. She knew we knew who she was and her body guards knew we knew who she was but we left her in peace after a simple hello (no pun intended) and a few words about enjoying the park, as she was on vacation with her family. She had on a huge sun hat and sun glasses. Joe recognized her immediately but I did not until she spoke. Her body guards took a stance that said "make one wrong move and we pounce"
6. The usuals like Cosmic Rays and Yak and Yeti, and the new places we tried in DTD
7. Frozen. Never were able to get a FP so we did the old "get to the park early and be close to the front in line, and make a beeline to Norway". Worked very nicely. Wait as about 10 minutes, and by the time we got finished with the ride and out, the wait time was already 60 minutes.
8. The new Soarin' was really nice.
9. That dang My Disney Experience app is so darn handy for on the fly planning!!

Not So Highs
1. Hollywood Studios. Seems very hard to spend a day there until they get it refurbished.
2. More break downs than I would expect, esp. at MK. POTC, HM, 7D, Space Mountain, Buzz, PeopleMover all down at one point or another. We got several substitute FPs, which is certainly nice.
3. The show on the Tree of Life at night. I think I was just expecting more than what it was, so my fault.
4. My continued epic failure at Buzz Lightyear. I just suck at that one. Joe's always over 800k and I can rarely break 300k. One minute I look at the scores and I am ahead by a nice margin and thinking this is the one! I turn away for 2 secs, look back and he's 600k points ahead of me. It's maddening!
5. Extra frisky business! Seems like no matter what we tried, I was picked as the one to step aside for an extra security check. Maybe I just look shady.
6. I got a blister. A blister! On my it little toe. I've never gotten a blister in a dozen trips. This one really hurt and made waking not pleasant.

This one's not really a complaint, just an observation. I wonder why some parks charge you $6 for Mickey pretzel and include the cheese sauce whether you want it or not, and some parks give you an option of $5 for a Mickey pretzel by itself or add an extra $1 for the cheese sauce. Either way it as pretty darn good.

Meeting your favorite artist and speaking to Adele - wow! And your Buzz Lightyear fail still beats my sad attempts at those targets. Sounds like it was a fun trip.

Rest assured, your score is still a lot better then mine on Buzz. I can't see where I'm shooting on that ride and it drives me nuts!
