I hesitate to ask another FP+ question

I hesitate, but I cannot find an answer to my FP+ question. Can I use one early FP in a park and then go to another park for more FPs? I've read that I have to use 3 in one park and then I can move to another park for more FPs. If that is the case then I should book a total of 3 early FPs at the first park and then I can move to another park. Any experience?

I was able to go online after midnight on day 60 and get most of our FPs before their network froze at 12:30. I was able to get what we wanted, but we don't ride the extra thrilling roller coaster rides because I have vertigo. I did book Soarin', Test Track, Seven Dwarfs and a lot of more tame rides.

I've read a lot of the posts here on FP+, but a lot of them are already outdated because the FP system has changed. If anyone wants to share any current posts I'd read them. Thanks.

DH and I are locals and we go to WDW every few weeks. The last time we were at WDW was 4 weeks ago, and nothing has changed since then. The way that FP+ currently works is you must book 3 FP+ selections all in ONE park. Once you have used those 3 FP+ selections, you may go to any park and get a 4th FP+. Once you have used the 4th FP+ you may get a 5th FP+ at any park, and so on, and so on....You are limited to the selections that are still available for the day though. For example, TSM is extremely popular and even if you use your first 3 FP+ in the morning, there is almost no chance there will be any FP+ to TSM for your 4th selection.

We often pick our FP+ the day of, once we're on our way to the park we've chosen for the day. Most of the FP+ selections are still available for "day of" picking. But attractions like 7DMT, TSM, FOF Parade, and Wishes are almost never available, even 30 days out, let alone for "day of" choosing.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Annie, it helps a whole lot. I'm just tweaking the FPs now. I'm trying to balance these 10 days at Fort Wilderness and all these 60 day advance FP opportunities with having annual passes prior to and after our resort stay. Because I love planning this is fun, but it also adds another layer of anxiety to the trip. We were never the ones running to the FP kiosks at rope drop to get a paper FP, but we would use them. Now we have to remember that the lines will still be there to wait in and not getting this FP+ doesn't mean you don't get to ride TSM or Soarin' or SDMT.

On our 4 days at MK we've got SDMT for each day (one interferes with dinner plans); the 2 days at HS includes TSM on each; the 2 days at EP has TT, Soarin, & Mickey photo op; and the 2 days at AK includes Safaris, Bugs Life, Lion King.

Back to tweaking my FPs. Thanks!

The tweaking is so much fun, I love the planning too silly sounds like you have a great selection. Like you I never ran for paper at DLP and I think the new system is much fairer and more inclusive.
I have also noticed in my planning that there seems to be quite a lot of on the day passes. Not sure if people change their minds last minute or the rumours of fp being held back and released on the day is true. But it looks like you have got the ones that run out fastest so fp4 and above will be easier to get?

Enjoy your trip

I have a question that I'm sure has been answered but I can't find.. Once you use your first 3 fastpasses for the day am I right in thinking that we have to use the in park kiosks at the park we want our next fastpass instead of using the MDE app?

For example, if my first three fastpasses are in MK, once they are done, if I want a fastpass in DHS I would have to wait till I am at DHS and can use a kiosk in order to grab one? Or can I get on the app and book one right away? Thanks in advance for any help.. this is the only thing I still have questions about with the new system Smile

Hi EmFord,

We used up our 3 FP at MK today and used a kiosk to select another one (HM). But, the kiosk only let us select Fps for MK and no other park. So, I believe you must be in the park you want the FP for.

Yes EmFord, you must be in the park where you want the extra FP+. If you are in MK, the kiosk will only let you pick MK attractions, and the same goes for each park.
Also, as of our last trip to WDW 4 weeks ago, you have to pick your extra FP+ at a kiosk. It's not an option yet to pick your additional FP+ on the MDE yet. But I hope it is soon!

Emford et al,

Another tip with the new FP+ system, is to book your FP's for later in the day at one park and hit rope drop at another and ride your favorite rides in the AM without burning FP's.. Once you hit your two or three favorites rides (multiple times, oif course biggrin ), bounce to the next park where your FP's are good for, and just wait for your time window to open. We found that this method optimized our ride time and we didn't feel like we were waiting around for our FP's to get here, while killing time.. It worked for us!!! awesome Works good when you want a nighttime show on FP+.... mickey
