Ideally, How Many Times Per Year Would You Go To Disney World?

I love Disney World, but I don't think I'd want to live there year-round. We have so much we have to get done while we're there now that I could definitely do with some more trips where I just relax. Back when we went solely for fun, we did about 5 trips one year and that seemed just about right. Maybe 4-5. How about you guys?

A two week trip twice a year would be great but if I lived in the Orlando area I don't think I could go more than about two weeks without at least a trip to DTD or a month without visiting a park.

My parents now go twice. Personally... If we could afford it. Twice would be perfect. That's a week a trip.

My biggest fear is that I go too often and it becomes less magical eek

But I think ideally, I would go three times a year: once for 2 weeks in September, and twice for a week in both May and December.

I definitely would like to go once for F&W/MNSSHP, then once for Christmas stuff, then once in spring so that I could get through the summer. So I guess 3 is probably the minimum! laugh

I think every 4-6 months for a week-10days would be perfect muchlove Feb, Oct/Nov and/or Dec. are the times we go now. About twice a year, wish it could be 3 times but we really don't like it too hot cool

Yeah like you guys said -- I don't think I'd like to live there. I need it to be special! That said, I like Mickkey's strategy mickey

For us the ideal scenario would be a 2 week stay 3 times per year. Once for F&W, and MNSSHP,once at the beginning of Dec. (Christmas Decorations) and MVMCP, and once in the spring for F&G and celebrate winter being OVER. yuck

I think 4 (if I didn't live here): October (F&W, Fall Decorations), December (Christmas events), January or February (nice and quiet, usually low crowds and pleasant weather), and May (F&G.) I would skip summer entirely...although then you'd miss out on the water parks (well, I would. We don't do water parks unless it's nice and hot.)

Anyone actually prefer summer?

I may be the only crazy one but I'd go once..for a lonnnnnnnng trip..maybe 10 days. We went for that long once and loved it. If I had my choice it would be October..but that won't ever happen!

Ideally I would live close enough to go anytime. However, if you consider the question with me still living in Illinois, my answer would be 3-4 times a year, spaced out evenly. The spaced out evenly is really important though so that I have enough time to miss really Disney before I head back again.

Last year I went twice within two months and it was just a little more than I could handle. I think that every 3-4 months would be prefect!

Twice per year, one week per trip, one day at each park plus one day at a water park

(we had the best time at Typhoon Lagoon in February, no big lines, unmolested in the snorkel tank, GREAT)

I could even do with one trip, but it's hard for us to go at Halloween or other special events, that's what I would change, trips all different times (damn school calendar)

Ideally, I'd love to spend a weekend there every month and a week-long vacation once a year. I'd happily settle for a weekend every few months and a week-long trip once a year. But I'm going to have to settle for a week-long trip every couple of years most of the time. I'm still thrilled hubby is willing to slip a three-day weekend in next fall. If I had my druthers, Disney World would be the only place we ever went on vacation. (Okay...maybe Disneyland every now and then.)

I think twice. Once in spring and once in the fall. They would both be long trips though, like 10 days each.

Twice a year would probably be good. Being able to go in the Winter time and get away from crazy Indiana and then in the late spring early summer to celebrate the ending of the school year. Its so hard waiting a whole year to go but for right now that is how it has to be.

Wow... even after almost 9 months of saying that... I still agree. 2 times a year.... for one week each. Dont wanna go too much to get bored with it, and wanna not go too much so the Magic is still there.

We have had annual passes for 12 yrs...not straight though, as we lived in St. Louis for 2 yrs and had to settle for Six Flags season passes - yuck. We were spoiled by Disney. We have also had Busch Gardens passes as we live 20 min. away, but we DID get bored, and I got tired of my DH (dear husband) comparing it to Disney.
We go at least twice a month during the school year, usually for the day Saturday. There are times we go more often, like Christmas. Summer is a different story as we are both teachers and have the summer off, so we do go more often during the week.
I have a different perspective. I never get bored with Disney and don't think I ever will. Some weeks I CRAVE Disney and can't wait to go and experience the magic. Unlike most of you, we are not there on vacation, but there are pros to this. We are never in a hurry to see everything and get everything done. We are never stressed - if one park is too crowded, we leave and try another park. If the kids are crabby or we get tired after a couple hrs, we go home. For me, Disney has a special magic that I can't describe. I walk through the gates and leave all my stress outside. I don't think about writing lesson plans or how behind I am grading papers, I am on vacation like the rest of you and I am able to let go of everything and feel the magic only Disney can make me feel. I never felt that way all our times at Six Flags or Busch Gardens.
Everytime we go to Disney, I notice something new or something that they have changed, or something that I have never noticed before. Disney never ceases to amaze me, I love to think about all the inside things...how in the WORLD do they manage all that garbage? What is their monthly electric bill? How do they make everything look like it runs so smoothly, when I KNOW there are crises behind the scenes, where they stay so as not to ruin MY day? How is it that I have NEVER in12 yrs been in a bathroom stall that is out of toilet paper, with all those people who have used that bathroom? I guess I am amazed by the simple things that become so complex when dealing with things on such a grand scale. The number of people who pay so much $ and travel across the world to experience Disney makes me feel so lucky that it's in my back yard and that I get to experience it so often. I count being able to have Disney passes and go so often as one of my blessings!

Ideally, I'd live at Golden Oak with an annual pass. Maybe with that fancy pass that gets me into Disneyland as well!

Well that was a nice dream. Realistically, I think 3 times a year would be nice. Similar to Jeff's schedule, I'd like to go in September, January/early February, and May.

Would love to go at least 3-4 times a year. We've been fortunate enough to go 2 times in the past 2 years. All depends on $$$. Disney isn't cheap.

Here here on the Golden Oaks and the Annual Pass. That would be our dream also. When we hit the Lotto right J.P.? Then I'll invite everyone down to stay for a week.

But still, even If I lived there, staying at a resort now and then would not be out of the question. I think thats part of the Magic for us. No I know it is.

I'm looking forward to it Mr. Hub!! But you're right about staying at the resorts sometimes as well. Golden Oak is great for your home, but you still need to take a vacation even if you DO live in Disney World!

I bought the winning Mega Millions ticket for tonight, so I'll be buying my house at Golden Oaks after the first of the year.

Jan and I would and did go about 4 times a year fot the 12 yraes since my retirement. Up until then it was 2 times a year.
I still go 4 times a year but , as most of you know, not to the parks. Disney has never lost any of the magic. I just went in Nov. and will be going in March with my grandaughter and great grangaughter.

I think three would be great! I'd love to be able to go when the park wasn't a peak season in the summer but I can't just take off of school for a vacation- I think my boss would be a bit mad since we have the summer off haha. But I'd love to go three! F&W Festival, around Xmas, and Flower & Garden time.

I'm a former College Program Cast Member and I worked there from Jan-Aug '09. With my crazy work & school schedules I only got to go to the parks once or twice a week but that was the best because you knew that if one park was crowded, you just went to a different one and it was no big deal because you could just go the next week. It never lost its magic for me or my roommates and every time we save up the money we can only have reunions at one place! I think living local was the best thing ever because I got to experience everything and learn the in's & out's and best times to go. I graduate from college in May and I'm putting my application in for Disney this week, so HOPEFULLY I'll be a cast member again soon and I can go every week again! (:
