A diaper cake does sound awful if you do not know what they are. But they really are adorable once you see one. Here are a few I made to sell

I call these muffins

And these are cupcakes

This is the one I made for our Daughter-In-Law for her baby shower

A diaper wreath I made for the door for the shower

And finally the toybox Poppy (Mr Hub) made for the shower.

Wow!! Incredible! So the diaper cakes are made out of cloth diapers? They're beautiful, and so creative! Where do you sell them?

And I had no idea MrHub was a craftsman! What an incredible gift!

Thanks to all of you!
Bali, I have sold them at a craft show but mostly by word of mouth. They are made with disposable diapers. You could make them with cloth but I think the odds of anyone using cloth any more are pretty slim. The diapers are usable though in everything I make. I do not pin or glue anything to the diapers. What you can not see is how many other things are "hidden" in the cakes. I have onesies, bibs, sleep-n-play outfits, wash cloths and assorted other goodies hidden in them. I always take a picture of everything I put in them before I assemble. I have a little book that I take to the craft show and it has a picture of the finished cake on one side and all of the goodies on the other so I can show the customer exactly what is inside. I am not sure if you can see it on the pictures but the "roses" are made out of socks.

Scrappy you should start an Etsy store!
Those are the best diaper cakes I've seen. I love how you put the receieving blankets along the outside! That is very creative!

OK, I just read that babies go through up to 10 diapers per day. That's a LOT of cakes! As far as I'm concerned, the more diaper cakes I get for a baby shower, the better!

No joke! My diaper cake lasted about two days!

I suppose you could..but you might need some salt. They can be a little bland.
