Gus the Dog and I pass out candy! Though for years I was the type that locked the door and turned out the lights....
I decorate, give out candy & this year we are dressing up Holden and going around the neighborhood.
This year we've moved and from what I've heard it's pretty dead on Halloween and that makes me really sad. Our old neighborhood was packed with Trick-or-Treaters and I loved it.
Last year Holden was three days old on Halloween..so we turned the porch lights on for a few minutes but then we turned them off and hid.
I could see myself enjoying "doing it up" on halloween. I think it's a hoot. In reality though, I turn off the lights. There aren't many trick-or-treaters where I live anyway. Maybe when I move to the suburbs.
We don't get any trick-or-treaters. We don't have plans yet, but I think DW is on call that weekend. Maybe we can find a costume party or some such the weekend before that won't conflict with the hockey schedule.
It's good that your priorities are straight!

Hey, these things are important Only one things comes between us and hockey, and that's our Disney trips. Unfortunately, the trips are planned many months before the hockey schedule is out so there's no getting around it. We only have to miss one game for out trip this year, sadly it's DW's favorite game of the year - the Teddy Bear Toss. Thousands and thousands of teddy bears (and other stuffed animals and a few facsimiles) for kids in need. We're there in the video tossing away, but we're down on the glass so you'd really have to look hard to see us. It's a fun night for all, but it's even better for us. One because we're big kids, two because we're on the glass so lots of teddy bears land in front of/near/on or bounce off the back of our heads, so we get to throw way more than we bring.
I'll let you guys know if we come up with anything fun to do for Halloween.
That sounds like a lot of fun (the getting hit on the head with teddy bears thing!)!
I'm a huge hockey game fan, but don't care to watch it on TV. I'd rather be there.

Does Gus have a costume?
