How many people have Columbus Day off?

I'm off today, but hubby's not. Was wondering if it's all that common for people to have this as a holiday.

If so, any good plans? awesome

Hi Annie,
We both work today. Our local school district is not even closed today.

You know, I feel like Columbus Day has definitely taken a hit over the past few years. Seems that when I was younger, everything was closed. Not anymore!

We have off today, but not officially for Columbus Day. Technically it's a staff development day, but due to budget cuts all PD work has been turned into Flex days off, so conveniently today is one, the other comes in February around President's Day.

I was off today but only because it is my regular day off. I worked the weekend so couldn't go anywhere special.

Here in my town Miami, it really isn't celebrated at all.

I guess since we have so many newly arrived immigrants, it really doesn't have much meaning for them.
