I'm back!
I really don't know how to describe this trip. It wasn't as fun as my other trips. Between the humidity, all the storms and rain and my feet blistering and swelling up.... it kinda sucked. To add the fact my friend complained almost the entire time and also lost her camera...well it didn't exactly add up for a perfect trip. I am def not going to go back with her again and I am not EVER doing summer or 3 days either. It's too short and the crowds are insane. I would never have gone had my friend been able to take off time another time of year. It's really sad that this trip worked out the way it did because I always count on it being my "happiest place on earth". Sigh. To make matters worse US Airways lost my damn luggage and I still haven't received it back. They sent it to Pheonix and I called and they found it but it hasn't made its way to my house yet. It arrived in San Diego the same night I did ...only a few hours later on a different plane. Where the hell is it??? I'm going on vacation again on Saturday and i'd like to have my luggage by then. My souvenirs are in there too!!! I must advice you to NEVER go with someone who has not done an ounce of research about WDW. Holy cow.... I had to explain everything to my friend and she didn't even pay attention to where I booked our dinings when I told her plenty of time and also advised her that some of the prices were pretty high. She thought it was ridiculous that I booked the Canada restaurant (Le Cellier) when she's from Canada and would have gone somewhere else if she could have. Well she didn't tell me!!!! She okayed me to make reservations wherever I chose. Just so much stress, pain and everything else that I finally broke down the night before we left. Ugh. Here I am sitting in the World Premiere Food Court at All-Star Movies bawling my fool head off.
Anyhow, I think I should balance this negative experience out by thinking of some things that DID go right:
- I love All-Star Movies. It's not only cheap but it does a good job of not being too whacky with the design and everything. Loved how big the main pool was and the food at the food court was pretty good. Bus service was excellent too.
- Le Cellier did not disappoint with its food!!! I had poutine, steak & potatoe skillet and the maple creme bruleee. Delish!
_ I have a new favorite in The Wave. Everyone should go try that place out. It's so yummy. Ruben is to die for.
_Got to ride Everest two times in a row
-No bad cast member experience. Everyone was really helpful and friendly.
-Watched Wishes from a balcony at Contemporary with some local friends and their baby. It was nice to enjoy their sanity amongst the insanity. Great view from there too!
It's sad that is all I can come up with. I really haven't had anywhere to vent about this since my friend can read all my social media sites and such. I paid for her to do this (she bought her flight and food tho) so I am feeling under appreciated and that maybe I should have gone with my hubby. She was not like this at Disneyland but then she has had 2 people close to her pass since then so I think it might have to do with grief.
Oh...and I also spent Wed night throwing up. I don't know whether I got food poisoning or it was from all the stress. My friend was upset about that but I told her to go out and about on her own but she wouldn't. So ... I had to listen to her express disappointment about that.
Just all around not a good trip. I guess the company you keep really does matter when going to the Happiest Place on Earth.
