IMAX at Disney

I think IMAX 3D theaters are a great experience and that Disney should consider an IMAX 3D attraction somewhere in the parks. Maybe Animal Kingdom would be perfect. Who's with me?

Great suggestion. Anyone think of a reason they don't/wouldn't have one? Put one in DTD and have original films. You could play them for a long time and it could be like a "ride" in DTD.

I just read yesterday that AMC is going to turn the Virgin Megastore which is going out of businesss, to an Imax theater. Almost next door to the current AMC theater and a perfect location for one and IMHO a perfect fit for Downtown Disney. Anyone else hear this or is my mind playing tricks on me.

It looks like WDWMagic is reporting that the AMC website does indicate an IMAX theater coming to Downtown Disney. Yep--agreed that it would be a great use of the Virgin Megastore space.

I think if I had my pick I'd much rather have the IMAX theater than the Virgin Megastore. I can buy overpriced CDs at home, but it can be fun to go to a movie while I'm on a trip. What do you guys think?

I'm not very likely to do either, but I'm WAY more likely to see the movie. Let's say it's roughly a 0.000001% chance vs. a 3% chance. Movies can be a good solo activity when you're traveling though, if you've had enough stress for the day and just want to relax for a little while.
