Inside For The Entire Vacation...

Ok, I'm curious about this question after speaking to friends last night who have been going to The Poly at WDW for the past 5 years..They stay for two weeks but always do stuff outside, like Uni/Islands, Seaworld, shopping malls, etc...I told them in our past two trips we never leave Disney...They thought we were mad after making a journey of 3000 miles...Do any of you stay inside the bubble for your entire vacation.?..How many of you still venture out to do other stuff.?...Hope I haven't asked this question in a previous thread..If I have then please ignore this thread..Kinda been rushed off my feet in the last few days..Stressed out...

For the 2 weeks I spend in Orlando, probably 70% will be in the bubble but there will be trips to Universal, the malls and KSC.

We never stay entirely in the bubble. We stay off sight because it's the only way we can afford to go and have a kitchen, with our allergies it's a must. Besides sleeping, showering and some quick meal prep we never see the place. We venture over to the outlet malls those Disney outlets just seem to keep calling my name. And this trip we're going over to UNI for a few days.

We don't count KSC as being in the "Disney part" of our vacation. We stop there on the way in, so we think of it as a very important part of the road trip.

That depends.... If we are doing a full family vaca (we have the "kids" with us... they are adults) then we will also head over to Universal and do a few days there. If it is just hubby and me, then we stay in the bubble. We don't rent a car, we just like not having to deal with any of that..... but we also make sure to do plenty of other things.... not just visit the parks like the fishing trips, Jelly Rolls, Disney Springs etc.

No we don't stay inside the bubble at all, I love Disney but I just love America too so I want to see more than just Disney.

Ditto on that Watchmaker. We live two hour away from WDW and when we go to WDW, we stay inside the bubble; "!Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas!". mickey

We also stay in the bubble! We had thought about Universal this year but cost and planning problems hindered that; however, I am fine just staying in WDW.

Only once did we stay off site, and have to venture outside the bubble. It was only the first few days of that vacation, and we did not like coming out of the bubble! And that was only to the DTD Hilton.

Of course, Universal gets more and more appealing with all of the HP offerings.

Hubby always golfs while on vacation, but he doesn't always go to a Disney golf course. And with Harry Potter World, a trip to Universal is now a must.

We're Bubble Buddies right there with you. Once we're in the house of mouse, that's where we stay. DH had wanted to take a day or two for Universal for our honeymoon and our 5year anniversary trip, but I refused. Once I'm in WDW, I STAY in WDW. I had him successfully converted to maintaining the bubble by our last trip. awesome I do want to go to Universal at some point, but it will have to be a separate trip. The WDW gravitational force is entirely too strong! mickey

I couldn't be that close to Disney and not stop in to say hi for a few days.

We usually stay inside the bubble; we get on the Magical Express and don't leave Disney property until we get back on the ME at the end of the trip. However, we will occasionally - I should say, rarely - venture outside. I do love Potterville over at Universal, but I'm fine with seeing it once every several trips.

Us too! Granted, we live in the US, so we've have lots of other opportunities to see the country. Recently had a week trip to Arizona which was awesome. So when we get to WDW we're there to stay. We love not driving and even with a few trips under our belt there's just so much we haven't seen or done that we're good with staying. Next time we MIGHT go to Uni but it's just so darn expensive in addition to WDW park tickets. I have a hard time swallowing that.

Lol...Love all these reasons, either for yay or nay....I think Disney should create a special Pin ( The ones you put on your lanyard ) "The Magic Bubble Pin"..Anyway my theory is the reason it's called " Walt Disney World " is because it's a world on its own, certainly not the same world I'm living in right now...lol.. mickey

We too are bubble people. We always have our car but still never venture out. It has been over 10 years since we left the bubble.

Usually, when I've gone to Disney... I stay within the Bubble.

I'm flying from Idaho... so to renting a car is an extra expense that I really don't want to budget into the plans.

About 4 years ago, I got a package deal on Expedia for flight + hotel near Universal. Since I had never been there before, I decided to go to Universal... I found that after three days, I'd seen and done everything I wanted at Universal, and I found myself back at Disney for the last three days of my trip...

I guess I have an internal magnet that draws me to Mickey Mouse.

Now, I think I may be traveling back to Disney next year to meet up with a friend of mine... (we did a 10 day Disney bubble trip last year -- she had never been to Disney before) ... and I have a feeling that next go around, she may want to venture to Sea World or Universal. But we'll see.

I'm all for the Disney Bubble. mickey

You know it's a funny thing..I remember shopping in Glasgow one year and went into the Disney shop just to browse..I said to my wife, if I bought something from here it wouldn't be the same as if I bought it from Disney ( if you get my drift ) Someone would say to me.." Oh did you buy that in Disney.?" Eh no actually Glasgow...In 2006 we spent our first week at POFQ and second week on I-Drive ( Wyndham Hotel ) We bought so much stuff at the malls, we had to buy another suitcase to take it all home...lol

Yes but you can say I bought it in Disney as they are the official outlet stores, in Orlando and staffed by cast members.

that's usually me preference but it doesn't always pan out I tend to just blow my money in 1 day rather than prolonging the excessive use of the credit card for 2 days!!!

I stay in the bubble 100% of the time whenever I'm doing a Disney trip. Don't want to deal with taxi fares and long drives to and back from non-Disney related places. My vacationing style that I prefer is to stay one place and explore what that place has to offer or have one central location of hospitality like a cruise ship stateroom.
