Ken it's beers and ears.
You can check off what you've tried too.
Thanks everyone. We're here! Just checked in at the Boardwalk Inn. Excited to get over to Epcot, so here's a "proof we're here" pic for now. LOL.
The view is great. I asked if it was possible for a free upgrade and they gave it to us! Disney rocks!
Oh, I got that beer app mrhub. Thanks! Now off to Das Altenmunster!
Sweet! Nice play on the upgrade!
Sweet! Nice play on the upgrade!
I was more than impressed mrhub! I mentioned that this is our 5th trip since 2010 and our first stay at a deluxe. Plus they already knew about our anniversary from when we booked. So, I figured, what the heck, it's worth asking. All they can say is no. But, the CM got on the phone with someone and next thing I know, our room is changed to the top floor with a view!
Seriously, I'm really impressed with Disney World. They have customer service down to a science.
Okay, here are some pics...
First, the warm welcome we received at the Magical Express area at the airport. This, for me, is where the Disney experience begins!
And our excitement to be on our way to The World!
And this is our room! We have a great view of the Boardwalk from our balcony.
Then, the walk (!) to Epcot! Very cool to be able to do this. I say cool, but it's actually scorching hot here right now!
Anyway, our first stop was at France:
Jan got the Grey Goose Lemon slush.
And I got the Gran Marnier slush. Oh so good!
Then, we continued walking towards Germany, my goal.
OH, THERE IT IS!!
Ahhh... Mission accomplished! Houston Control, Altenmunster has been obtained. MrHub, this one's for you!
Dinner at Le Cellier tonight!

Wow, what a killer view at BW! And Epcot looks empty compared to the summer crowds when school is out. Have fun tonight, and let us know what you do (and of course, EAT).

Yes, the view is amazing! We're sitting right now on our little balcony enjoying a beverage.
Epcot isn't busy at all today. We specifically chose this week since schools are back in now and I had read it was on of the quietest times to visit. Turns out it's true! Great time to come here. But it is HOT HOT HOT.
You Da Man Ken! Sweet view from the room, are you on the corner right over the Flying Fish?
That beer looks goooood! 49 days for us. That is a hot walk. Take the boat too. Have fun, will be waiting for more report!
Just getting on the forum today! Glad you guys made it safely! Boardwalk view is awesome! Have fun!
I love the "live" updates as well!
What a beautiful room. That view is great.
Great room location!!!

Aaaahhhh! Someone got bit by the "Deluxe bug!" Gotta love it, and treat them nice and you never know what you will get in return.
I must say that staying at the Boardwalk is a definite plus. Just got back from a delicious dinner at Le Cellier - I had the cheddar cheese soup, which was yummy and Ken had the lobster chop salad for an appetizer. Then for the main course, I had the filet with mushroom risotto and Ken had the pepper crusted sirloin. We're still full! A good start.
WOW!!!!!! Incredible View from your room
The room is great! We're right above the Flying Fish neon sign. Just got back from dinner at Le Cellier and am STUFFED. We came out about 2 minutes after Illuminations ended.
We got back to our room and the skies opened up for a few minutes with pouring rain. Then it cleared up and the boardwalk is busy again.
Yep, we've been bitten by the "deluxe bug" for sure. It was so nice to be able to just walk back to our room from Epcot.
I'm glad you guys made it safely!!! The Boardwalk is very nice and enjoy your room like you have already! Enjoy your stay!!!
Woke up this morning to a very peaceful Boardwalk. What an amazing place this is. Heading over to Kona Cafe for breakfast via monorail and a bit of shopping at Boutiki (my favorite store here). Then later we hit MK. I think that's the plan so far.
Here are some pics from our balcony this morning. Such a quiet place in the morning. Being the geek I am, I also looked outside at 3 am to see what lights they have on. The post lights and "string" lights are the only ones on. All the building signs and decorative lighting is turned off.
Okay, some more pics from today...
First, a nice shot of the Monorail as we walked from International Gateway to the front of Epcot to get to the Poly via... the Monorail!
We arrived at the Poly.
After a great breakfast at Kona Cafe, we hit Boutiki where I picked up a new shirt and pair of shorts.
And Jan got a Dooney & Bourke bag (apparently, this is a good thing)!
Then we headed to the boat to take us to MK. A friendly CM offered to take a photo of the both of us, so we took him up on the offer.
Magic Kingdom was busy, but not really bad. Here were the crowds when we arrived. Notice all the Halloween decorations are up.
A close up of one of the decorations on the lamp posts.
And, finally, a highlight for me. The castle WITHOUT THE CRANE!
Lovely photos!

Great pictures. Loved the shots of the Poly. 48 more days till we will be shopping there!

Yeah!
I like the outfit Ken, they have some great shirts & shorts. Oh yeah, like the purse too Jan!
