Great trip report so far! Your picture are fantastic! The view from your room is incredible and all the food looks delicious! We're planning on a trip this exact week next year so I love hearing how low the crowds are for you!

Can't wait to hear how you liked the Train tour! My husband and I loved it!

We both really enjoyed the tour Kris. As Ken mentioned, we had no idea of what the engineer and fireman had to do to keep the steam trains running. Definitely recommend it. awesome

So glad to hear it. I love when a recommendation works out for everyone! It was one of our favorite moments of our honeymoon!

Thank you scrappy for your early morning post! We plan on making it an Epcot day and have dinner planned at Cape May Cafe. We were supposed to go there Monday, but were too full from lunch so we changed it to today. We had planned on San Angel Inn at the Mexico pavilion, but decided it's way too dark in there to enjoy dinner, lol. When we went on the ride the other day, I could see people using their cell phones to read the menu! laugh

Today will be a great day - we're at our favourite place!

Question - Can you still use the mug at any resort? I know you are not supposed to fill up anywhere but your home resort, but my parents leave this weekend and are staying at Cor. Springs. They were wondering if they could refill at the Boardwalk when they walk from EPCOT to DHS?

Thanks!

Morning Eeyore. I asked about the mugs and was advised you could use them at any resort, just not at the parks. And the rapid refill is only for fountain drinks. Not sure if that will change? So your parents should have no problem here at the Boardwalk. awesome

congrats Happy Anniversary! Hope you have a lovely dinner at Cape May tonight. date

I have to confess when I saw the title of the trip report my first thought was "why are they staying at the airport?" BWI for me is the Baltimore-Washington airport!

The Boardwalk is my home resort and I love it! It's a totally different experience to have so much available that you can walk to! Love your pictures....keep them coming!

Have a magical annniversary!! muchlove

Thanks so much for the Anniversary wishes everyone! Really appreciate it! awesome
We're having a great day here so far.

So, today we are just taking it easy. We walked over to Epcot this morning and it was very quiet at that time.

Some of the F&W buildings are now up.

We then went on Soarin' twice (once standby and then fastpass). This was the line. Took about 10 minutes to get on standby!

We then went on Test Track. I must say, I don't like how you are now forced to go through the "design your vehicle" stuff. We used to be able to bypass that altogether. Not anymore. It just wastes so much time. Sad Also, while we were on it, it did an emergency stop and it stopped HARD, like hitting a wall. We sat for about 10 minutes before it started up again.

Then we headed over to the Poly. This was the lineup for the monorail!

I enjoyed a Dole Whip while sitting on the patio at Captain Cooks. What a nice view!

The hammock looked inviting.

More shots from the Poly.

We then headed back to Epcot via monorail. This is the outer parking lot.

This is what the average crowd level is like today at Epcot. What a great time to come here if you don't like the crowds!

At this point, my camera sort of overheated. The rear LCD screen stopped working. It is VERY hot here today. So, we're now back at the Boardwalk cooling off along with my camera. Tonight is our Anniversary dinner at Cape May Cafe. We skipped lunch today so we'll be extra hungry for that buffet! awesome

Thanks Eeyore! awesome

The crowds are nothing here this week. It's really amazing to experience this place without the usual lineups for attractions or navigating around in large crowds. We'll definitely be coming back, probably the same week again.

Something also worth mentioning is that it's extremely hot and humid here right now. My camera shut down this afternoon walking around in Epcot. Thunderstorms or rain in the afternoon have also been a daily occurrence during our stay so far.

Thanks PirateGirl! I'm glad you are enjoying the report and pics. We've had fun doing it.

You'll have a great time for sure. We are leaving on Sunday morning so we only have a couple more days left. Sad

The hottest and most humid trip we have ever done was in September. We have been there in both June and July and although it was hot it was not nearly as humid as it was in September. October is beautiful weather but it is more crowded than September. I did really enjoy the low crowds of September but in the end Mrhubs love of the F&W festival and the much lower humidity won out.

It's definitely humid, but it's not too bad if you can duck into buildings and rides to cool off. Today felt like the hottest day, but I would come back at this time because of the low crowds. Being able to walk on to Soarin within 10 minutes for standby is worth the heat and humidity, at least IMO. wink

Thanks for the well wishes! Glad you have enjoyed our visual trip report - it's so nice to show the photos to people who enjoy spending time at Disney as much as we do. Our families are like "whatever", lol.

November is also a good time to come - we were here mid November last year and caught the last 2 days of F&W and the first Mickey's Christmas party. I know you guys will have a great time.

Here's a short video from today on the monorail in Epcot. This give you an idea as to what the crowds are like right now.

Happy belated anniversary! - Your pictures are truly spectacular! I think the picture of the Beast's castle is one of my favorites - along with your "random" Main Street pictures.

Day 7 - Second last day here. Sad

So, after enjoying a coffee and croissant on our balcony, we walked over to DHS. I left my camera back in the room so no pics of our visit there. We went on TSM with about a 20 minute wait. We then took the ferry back to the Boardwalk.

Around noon, we headed over to MK via Epcot. Once again, the crowds at Epcot were non-existent.

On the Monorail to TTC.

Hopped on the ferry from TTC to MK. Snapped a couple of pics.

MK was also fairly quiet today. Just a couple or random shots.

After a bit, we grabbed the Monorail over to the Poly for lunch at Kona Cafe.

This is a GREAT beer I had at Kona. Very very good.

And of course, I had to have a Dole Whip and sit out on the patio at Captain Cooks.

We then took the boat from the Poly back to MK to get a bus back to our resort.

A big storm was brewing so we were glad to be heading back to the Boardwalk. In fact, as I write this in our room, there is lightning striking everywhere around us.

Just a quick shot of a bus sporting the new look.

Dinner at the Flying Fish tonight!

Your photos are so good Ken. They have real depth and clarity to them and it is getting me through my 39 days that are left until we get there. Looking forward to the next set. Can you get any of the thunderstorm?

Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes. We had a great dinner at Cape May - the buffet is to die for. Special mentions were the fresh carved roast beef, fresh corn on the cob, baked beans, corn bread and the crab legs! The best dessert was the strawberry shortcake.

Staying close to home tonight as it's still raining so having a later dinner at The Flying Fish. We have booked breakfast tomorrow morning at The Captain's Grille and will probably spend the day at Epcot again. I'm sure Ken will want another beer from Germany and I wouldn't mind another vodka slush from France.

We are also contemplating booking a return trip before we check out to save the 35%, and if we do, it will be for the Boardwalk (see Kristen, we are now officially resort snobs, lol). Looking at end of January, first of February, which is our usual time of year to come here.

I tried to capture some lightning, but it's just too quick. Here is what it looks like right now from our room. Pouring rain and rather gloomy at the Boardwalk.
