Just added Artist Point to the Dining list for our May trip... Your thoughts??

I've heard good things about Artist Point... awesome I just added this signature restaurant at Wilderness lodge to our growing list of ADR's for our May trip.. I mentioned earlier this year in a post, that I wanted to test new waters on this trip and venture to some new dining locations throughout Disney, so we're giving it a go... Have any of y'all dined here and if so, what are your thoughts and what were your favorite eats? Thanks for your input... awesome I'm looking forward to dining here.. May can't get here soon enough!! yay mickey

yeah

We had an ADR last year when we stayed at WL...The three of us, my wife and son ( 17 ) always give marks out of 10 for our table service meals..The AP scored 8.5....My wife had the signature soup, Smokey Portobello and loved it, I opted for the Crab appetiser and was very pleased,my son didn't have a starter..Our main courses were Salmon Silverbay ( cedar plank ) for my wife, I had the Buffalo ( requested it served as the chefs recommendation ) and my son had the Filet Mignon...We all gave it a big thumbs up...We even had a free champagne toast for starters..Our server was awesome and the atmosphere was good..We got a copy of the menu to bring back home..

This is from my as-yet-not-completed Trip Report from Sept 2014:

For dinner, I started with the Heirloom Tomato Panzanella Salad and hubby had the Smokey Portobello Soup. Both were delicious. For entrees, I had the Seared Diver Scallops with risotto, Serrano ham, Swiss chard and tomato nage (broth). Hubby had Char-crusted Filet Mignon with roasted squash and potatoes. Again, both were top notch. Hubby had a Jack Daniels for dessert so I used his dessert and ordered a cheese plate that featured a Truckle cheese, a Mt. Tam cheese and a Blue cheese. Not as good as the cheese plate at Victoria & Albert's, but still quite good. For my dessert, I had the Double Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. OMG, this was soooooo good! It was actually better than the one at V&A.

After dinner, we stopped by to talk to Tom some more (and have a cocktail or two) and then called it a night and went to bed.

We've eaten at AP twice so far. We loved it both times.

P.S. Tom's the bartender at the Territory Lounge. We were staying at WL, so we saw Tom every night.

Two thumbs up from two different dining experiences. I highly recommend it. When in doubt, go with the chef specials.

Love Artist Point! DH loved the bison and I had an amazing halibut last time we ate there. Oh and the cobbler may be my favorite dessert in Disney! awesome

Fabulous food and excellent service. The only issue I had with AP was the lack of enforcement of the dress code (a common complaint, unfortunately). AP was our first Signature Dining experience, so we dressed up and were considering it our "special" meal. We were seated in the small pass through area near the entrance rather than the main dining room, so everyone walked past us. And a steady stream of ripped jeans and ratty t-shirts ensued. Sad I admit, it did dampen the overall experience for us. Not AP's fault so much as our own expectations. So just be forewarned if you aren't already. Looking past the questionable attire of the patrons, which I've since learned to do, Wink it's an all around great experience. One of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever seen with food to match!
