Bonjour alles. I promise that is all the French you will get! I am going to try and do a TR with lots of food photos but it may take a while as this is going to be my first attempt.
Background: parents are both 75 this year (one in July one in October) and I hit 50 in October, originally DH (aka the rock -no not the wrestler, patience of a saint) and I were going to take them to Florida with us and pay for one of the flights and use our DVC points, but my Dad couldn't cope with the flight so I thought and suggested DLP And hence this trip was born. So I booked Hotel New York as that was the nearest to the Parks that we could afford, Eurostar tickets for us both from London for DH and I and Ashford for parents and ADRs for every day somewhere different (thanks to my friend Kris who gave me tips and advice).
Low points: torrential rain the day we arrived and Thursday and Mum not having sensible shoes despite being told! The smoking, although I am not a smoker I don't mind but people smoke everywhere queues, in the faces of children (and not necessarily their own) just ugh. Rudeness of some of other European Disney fans (the Spanish). I had read they were rude, jump queues etc and it was true. I will own up to "accidentally" kicking one that had barged me trying to get ahead in the queue.
High points: so many, seeing my parents dance in the shadow of the castle by the wishing well, Goofy stealing Mum's coat, wearing it and then not being able to get it off (couldn't get it off over his gloves). We laughed so much we hurt. Getting my Dad on Tower of Terror and getting the ride photo after! The food especially at Walt's it was totally totally wonderful, and seeing my Mum cry at their birthday cake.
Well that's it for now as real life intrudes, will try to get this written before the next vist in October!!
