Just found this site

Hi, just stumpled upon this site while using google. Then of course, just had to join. Hubby and I are both pretty big Disney fans.

You guys have any plans to go soon or any recent trips? (I haven't been in forever and love reading about other people's stuff)

Thaks for the welcome cdub.
We just came back from our 30th anniversary trip Sept 12-19. We stayed at the Polynesian. We are going to be staying at Saratoga Springs (our home resort) Jan 24-31. I am already counting the days.

Welcome, Scrappy! mickey

I'm jealous of both you and Vettelover, getting to go to WDW in January! What a great time to visit. I assume that if Saratoga is your home resort, you've stayed there before?

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. We have stayed in the Polynesian before as well as Saratoga Springs. I love them both. They both have their own perks.
We usually visit Disney in January. We live in PA and enjoy the pleasant January weather in Florida. This trip we will be traveling with another couple. We took them last January which was really their first trip there. They loved it! Of course, in our minds, why wouldn't they?
I use Scrappy because I love to do scrapbooks. Of course Disney trip are my favorite scrapbooks to do. Once our last son moved out of the house I turned his room into a scrapbook room. I do have a lot of Disney stuff in there too though.
I found this site while looking for new things to do while in Disney. I have looked over the site some and really love reading the formums. I especially love the picture thread. I showed my hubby the site last night and he too joined. He is really the computer person in our house. He joined as Mr Hubs. I am sure he will share pictures with all of you soon.
Again thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi Scrappy! I can't wait to hear how going to WDW with another couple turns out -- we've been considering it. Are you folks good friends?

Looking forward to your and hubby's posts! mickey mickey

Hi bali,
We went with the same couple last year. Our trip was 9 days long and all of us had such a great time we are doing it again this year. A word of warning, we had gone on another trip with another couple about 7 years ago which did not turn out so well. So, I guess it just really depends on the couple on whether or not things work out. I will say that I did have some concerns about the first couple we went with and I should have gone with my gut feeling about it.

Very bold of you to go again after a bad experience the first time. We're sort of skeptical of the idea of a couple of couples, so I think one bad experience would put us off for life. I could also see how it could be a lot of fun if you found the right people though. Any tips for that kind of trip? Activities that are good for those kinds of trips?

Thanks again to all of you for your warm welcome.
cdub as far as our planning for couples trips, we usually book breakfast and dinner everyday. We do whatever for lunch or skip it altogether depending on what we are doing and what time we will be eating dinner. We usually book a couple of fun things to do too. This trip we will be seeing La Nouba and we have booked an Illuminations Cruise. We have seen the La Nouba show twice already but the couple we are going with have not seen it. We have not done a private cruise before though. That I am really looking forward to. We try to do at least one thing that we have never done before and try to eat at least one new place each trip.

Scrappy -- great advice. I'm always interested when people choose to see La Nouba several times. We haven't seen it yet and have heard so many great reviews!

We have never tried a Disney cruise. We did do a cruise once to Bermuda. I was not crazy about it. I do think I would like to try a Disney cruise sometime though. I have been reading all around this site and noticed that you are smokers. I wonder if we have ever sat in one of the smoking sections together while enjoying our smoke and resting our feet?

So, what new place are you trying dining-wise this time around scrappy?

Our first...and only...trip so far was in October 2008. We were there on our honeymoon.

I, too, have been on another cruise line...also to the Bahamas. The Disney Cruise Line is unlike any other cruise line out there...at least as far as I'm concerned. And now DCL has a 'rewards' program...makes me want to go again...and again...and again.....

What's the rewards program, M&D?

Welcome Scrappy! DW and I just got back from a big anniversary trip last month. We did the Wishes Premium Cruise and it was breathtaking. I would highly recommend either that or the Illuminations Cruise. As it was explained to me, Illuminations may be the better fireworks display, but the atmosphere behind the Magic Kingdom for Wishes is hard to beat.

Hi Scrappy!

Welcome to the friendliest Disney site! I have never been to WDW in January, but I have been on two (solo) Disney cruises and loved both. I have been to WDW in April, May, October, and five times in December (including the 2005 trip which began November 30). All but one of my trips was solo because if I waited for someone to go with me, I'd never leave home.

Hey Jim, have I ever asked you which month is your favorite to visit WDW? Have you been so many times in December because of the fan meets?

Exactly, Bali. But alas, I won't be going this year.
