Keeping The Tomorrow In Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland is currently getting a fresh coat of paint with a color scheme. It's bright and friendly, the rocks at the entrance are sort of metallic silver, blue, and purple. The Carousel of Progress has a new sign. Tomorrowland has always fought the clock in staying current and futuristic, as such, over the years it has seemed to fall behind not quite living up to the potential.

What would you do to Tomorrowland to help give it a boost? Do you think new paint is enough, or would you like to see a major overhaul. New attractions?

The racetrack needs an overhaul, maybe better theming, a Cars tie in, or more futuristic "hover"car thing, perhaps. I know that Disney has to add new things to stay competitive, but I kind of love that Tomorrowland is the vision of the future that people had in the 70's. A new coat of paint never hurts. I wouldn't change much- except to get rid of the awful Stitch experience.

Space Mountain - even though I'm not a fan, obviously this has to stay.

Monster's Inc. - this is an every-once-in-awhile attraction for us, but I think it's cute and it sucks up crowds. I think it stays.

TTA - cult favorite--has to stay

Carousel of Progress - I would cry myself to sleep if this piece of Disney history went the way of the dodo. I don't even think it really needs an update. I love it just the way it is.

Stitch's Terrible Escape - awful. just awful. I don't know what to replace it with, but ANYTHING would do.

Buzz Lightyear - Either do something to make it obvious which blaster is yours and what the heck it's pointed at or get rid of it.

Tomorrowland Speedway - replace with some sort of Tron attraction or at least swap out cars for alternative fuel cars or something futuristic. The fumes emanating from this ride are noxious and there's nothing "tomorrow"about it at all.

Astro Orbiter - revamp the system for getting to it. I almost forgot about it because if you're not looking for it, you'll miss it.

The Lunching Pad--bring back the Sweet Cream Cheese filled pretzel!! Nothing is more futuristic than that cheesy carbohydrate-laden nirvana. This was the only location left and they've taken it away. Just like the spice chicken waffles at Sleepy Hollow. mad confused Sad(

Maybe a revamp complete with a new name is in order. The concept of "tomorrow" is all but impossible anymore. We no longer have dreams and are waiting for real technology to catch up with them. Technology is evolving so rapidly, we can't even conceptualize what new innovations might be in store for us a year from now, let alone a decade from now. Maybe Final Frontier Land or Progressland.

It definitely needs something--Tomorrowland was my favorite land when I was a kids. During 3 out of my last five trips, my only reasons for going there were CoP, TTA, and my cream cheese pretzel.

Just a couple of pictures of the new paint job on the rock work. I actually really like it.

I love the rocks! Also Tomorrowland is getting a face lift soon. Not really sure what that means but it's coming.

When I think futuristic, I think of two things. "The Jetsons," and chrome. Of course, "The Jetsons" comes from the wrong studio.

Tomorrowland Speedway - change these to electric cars, give them the Tron treatment so they'll look cool in the evening when kids will jump up and down to get into them.

Never visited Buzz, Monsters, Inc or Stitch - so can't comment on these. I believe Stitch is on his way out anyway. Not quite sure how Monsters, Inc fits into Tomorrowland anyhow...

Carousel of Progress is the last attraction Disney worked on personally. I can't see them getting rid of this as it would cause an uproar amongst those fighting to keep an element of Walt Disney in the parks and not watching them turn into Pixar/Marvel or Star Wars.

The speedway... for the life of me, I can't figure out why in 2016 they are using those horrible cars producing all those fumes. I hate being near it. They should switch them to electric so they run silently and without smell.

Peoplemover should bring you through an area themed after a Mars colonization. That is in our future. Perhaps inside Space Mountain so that instead of going through a long dark tunnel, you go through a Mars exhibit of some sort. Maybe even feature a Mouse on Mars theme and have a concept of Disney World theme park on display instead of the model of Epcot (which is no longer mentioned in the narration).

Move Astro Orbiter and stick it up on the top of Space Mountain where it is very visible to all.

Update Carousel of Progress in general. They should make a scene relevant to today. Maybe just turn it into a centrifuge where everyone sticks to the walls.

Get rid of Buzz Lightyear and replace it with something like Toy Story Mania, but space themed. Honestly, TSM kicks Buzz's ***.

As a general statement, I think Disney World should change things up a bit more than they do. At times, I feel like it's the same old thing all the time. It would surely keep things interesting for those that go often.

PREACH! I used to love Buzz Lightyear SpaceRanger Sping back in the day but I can't even handle it now that TSM is out. It just points out all of the flaws in Buzz and shows what that technology could be. The fact that it's in Tomorrowland with such outdated technology is sad.

Haha... honestly, I don't like Buzz Lightyear at all. You can rapid fire and you can't tell what the hell you're hitting most of the time. Give me that ball on a string from TSM anyday!
