I can't decide how I feel about this shutting down. With Body Tours offline I guess permanently, there aren't any more traditional simulator rides left (not counting the roller coaster thing in Disney Quest) in the parks. I'm a bit bummed that they're going with the prequels on the new ride, but I hope the improvements significantly improve the ride!

I have to say that simulators aren't my favorite. That's one of the reasons I'm not a huge Universal fan. I will miss the awesomely dated intro videos though.

So what exactly are they doing? Re-vamping the ride? Star Tours will be coming back right? It's not going to be a simulator this time?

Yes and yes. I, for one, am really excited about it.
I'll really miss the old one, but I'm hoping they'll keep a lot of the classic elements (including some of the queue).

I love the little tour guide guy..I'll miss him if he's not on the new ride..hopefully they'll fix his programming.
