The Lion King

Has anyone gone to a "The Lion King" on Stage show? My grandpa bought us all tickets for next Sunday, so now I'm really excited and want to know more about it. It's come to my hometown before, but I've never seen it before. It's always good to get a little Disney magic away from Disney World mickey

Edit: Just realized one bad thing..I'll have to miss some of the first week of pro football. Oh well, at least I'll get to watch my Cowboys on Wednesdays.

It is an amazing show! I saw it probably 8 years ago when it came to Pittsburgh, PA. If you have seen the Festival of the Lion King you have a pretty good idea what the stage show is like. I have to say it is my Disney stage show/musical.

The opening will take your breath away. It has every time I've seen it. Every.Time.

You won't even remember to miss football that day. awesome

I took my little sisters to see it in Minneapolis this past winter and was blown away. I literally sat with my mouth hanging open almost the entire time. Loved it!

On a side note, please do not take pictures. In a dark theater where people have paid a lot of money for tickets, it's really distracting for those around you and for the actors. Most professional theaters will not let you take pictures anywhere inside the doors and will actually take your camera away if you do so.

My DW, and DD went to see it years ago. They enjoyed it so much, I bought tickets for my son, and myself. I then marked the wrong date on the calendar, so I can only pass along how good it was second hand..lol

Whoops. I loved it. Everything. It was unreal. I mean, I'm not a play sort of guy unless it's funny, but this was amazing. How vividly it relates to the actual movie, the music, Rafiki's voice (!!!!). It was outstanding. I thanked my grandpa like crazy afterwards. A very fun experience. Oh.. I also really liked the drums. I used to be a drummer in school so I always pay attention to the percussion in shows like this.. And the guys were remarkable at their craft.

We saw it on Broadway several years ago and all I can say is WOW. My mom saw it in LA and was less than impressed. The Broadway version had a stage that moved, went up and down, etc. She said the LA version did not. So i'm not sure how the road shows are in comparison.

Regardless, the music is wonderful and the costumes are jaw dropping.
