litte old me

Just my hello I a start digging into planning my trip... and I may or may not be active on here it just depends on my free time but hopefully I'll have the time (as my wacky work schedule should be improving).

My planned trip will be for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon & and a 7-day solo expedition.

You see back in Jan of `10 I was dragged, down to Disney, the week before Marathon Weekend. That weekend I found my inner-child, learned to enjoy the parks and thought the concept of running a marathon at Disney just seemed cool. Fast forward a year a half later I've shredded nearly 100 pounds and looking forward attempting the crazy... running a half marathon.

You're going to have such a blast at the World. Solo trips are awesome! And there will be a lot of great folks there that week as the Food and Wine Festival is just opening. mickey

Do you have hotel booked? Where're ya staying?

For the tips see below

I haven't booked a hotel yet, I'm looking to stay at a host resort I thinking it might be All Star Sports of Movies... any advise would be appreciated. I am also looking into Port Orleans however that may not be in the budget.

Thanks.

Tips: eat less eat better Smile Oddly while down at WDW I was on the deluxe dinning plan... and after 4 meals I started to explore new menu items, and I started to grow tired of desert... and all the restaurants had a fresh fruit replacement options which I opted for. Gave me the right kick start for eating better & fresh. Once home I also cut back on fast food and HFCS.

Also when I returned from WDW the weather here (Michigan) was horrible... lots of snow and I had a 3 more days off before returning to work. After speeding the previous week walk all around the world I had the desire to move around, so I joined a gym. Prior to the trip I felt much older than 30 and had all kinds of aches and pains... feeling better kept pushing me to stay on my current track. Oh and WDW podcast hep distract me Smile

Great suggestions!Still, I bet there was a whole lot of willpower and mental strength that was a part of your success as well!

I can highly recommend Pop Century and All Star Music! Smile

What's HFCS? confused

Yes HFCS is indeed High Fructose Corn Syrup, I don't believe food with HFCS isn't good for you or anything like that. My goal of cutting back/out HFCS was well foods with HFCS typically are not that good for you start with.

Right now I am leaning towards All-Star Sports... the rooms, based on the pictures, just look a tad red roof inn-ish than Music. I had to rule Pop out once I noticed they where not a host Resort which could lead to transportation issues.

I think it was this study where they fed rats the same "calories" of HFCS and regular sugar and the ones on HFCS gained more weight. I think some science is coming out suggesting it's not very good for us.
