Magic Days we are almost on our way!!

After all the months of planning our much anticipated trip is right around the corner. hard to beat the excitement of a Disney Eve day. I've not done a trip report in the past so we shall see how this goes. For this trip we are traveling as a family of four. Dh known by most as Brett. and my Mom and Dad. This is our first food and wine festival and MNSSHP. We will be staying at Pop Century or as I like to think of it"staying at Pops" as it's starting to feel like a vacation home for us. This will be our third visit to Pops in as many years. We may try a moderate resort in the future but for now we appreciate our value resort. We have made an ADR for every evening but thus far only booked fast pass+ for Saturday 26th. I'm sure once we are in the magic the whole program will feel less frustrating but for now it hard for me to focus on passes when we want to start in one park and finish in another each day. Our plans and thoughts are listed below.

    Our ADR's and special events.

26th Akershus: While we have no children our family really enjoyed this place at Christmas.

27th MNSSHP + Crystal Palace:The CP is a tradition for us.

28th Be Our Guest: First visit and very excited to give it a go.

29th Teppan Edo: First place I got Brett to try any Asian food. He was my meat n taters guy for years. Any idea how hard it is to get creative with a potato after 19 years. Disney is how we opened his interest of other flavors.

30th Boma: Brand new to us but very excited.

31st Chefs de France: This is our must have ADR. So glad it is not a signature place.

01st. Cape May: New for us but sounds great.

02nd Parisian breakfast @ Chefs de France, Kouzzina, Wishes Desert Party: my parents fly out this morning so Brett and I will be bouncing around epcot in the morning then MK at night. We found it strange that they made us pay for four people at the desert party when there is only two of us. So may just have two extra spots for the desert party.

03rd Departure day no ADR's we typically have left over meals from the dining plan so guessing we will use these here.

Day one was mostly travel focused. We did have the ADR in Norway and it was just as fun as ever. Having been before we played back with the princesses. So much fun. Those are some quick witted ladies. I had the braised short ribs. I do all my visiting to this site on my I phone so I'll need to learn how to post a pic from there. Nice presentation. Since we had not eaten all day and our ADR's were for 6:30 we stopped in Canada to get a little something on tummies. I had the fillet with mushrooms and Brett had the soup. Not amazing but worth a try. We have kona in the morning then playing around in dtd.

MNSSHP was awesome. We were a little concerned about offending others but had lots of positive comments on our jerseys. We even had a cast member ask us to take our picture. We ended our night with 5 rounds of space ranger spin with no waits. I lost but I piloted Brett to his success. Isn't that what partners do? Lol. Monday is magical hours in the magic kingdom and be our guest night. Can't hardly wait.

Food and wine was so much easier to handle on a week night. Nice to slowly visit each area. Brett has decided we should come back next December for our twentieth anniversary. So I think that might imply he liked the Christmas season a hair better but it's tough. Tonight we ate at Tapan Edo. Great meal, fun group I really like this place. Still a must do for us. We have Boma tomorrow and I adjusted the time so we can make it to fantasmic. Should be fun.

How many parks can you close in one night? Well for us it was two. We made a point of making sure my folks got to see fantasmic then after that Brett and I hit epcot for illuminations. I have to say that avoiding the cattle crush to get into fantasmic helped my attitude toward the show but it still finished third for me. The lack of interest in the glow with the show ears is a little surprising. They seem to be popular in California but I think there might have been 100 out of the 10000 watching the show. $25 seems to be more than people are willing to pay to participate in the show. I know I don't buy ears for myself so I have felt no need to start now. I have this fear of these new ones impacting someone's health with the extra flashing. I have a dear friend with epilepsy and strobe lights can send her into seizures. Plus my little dog has it as well so I'm have to deal with them far to often. I can only imagine that happening to someone here at Disney. Could put a real damper on a vacation. I have to hope that they were researched well before being added to the park. For our main meal we did boma. In fact we were the family of the day. I have to say that being formally introduced and having a personal drumming welcome was over whelming. The zebra domes took the edge off quickly enough. Looking forward to another park hoping day and my personal favorite place to eat in all the kingdom. chefs de France.

No Remy but an amazing meal.

We had another magic day. We started by running into the lady that has been so awesome at keeping our room so tidy. She was so excited to thank us for our thank you cards it made me glad we took the time to do it for her. She has been great and has even made us some special towel animals. I've never seen a big elephant but she used larger towels to make it happen. Then we went to HS. We did the stunt shows we normally don't do and got all kinds of silly happy to see the marionettes from the sound of music in the back lot your. We played tsm 3 times today. Funny I keep beating Brett on that one but can't beat him on buzz light year. Guess which ride he wants to do in the morning. I'm taking all tips. Our evening was also full of fun. We ran into Mickey and Pluto at our pool on the way to our supper at chefs de France. Nice little touch of pixie dust. Chefs was amazing and we are ready for our return visit Saturday for the Parisian breakfast. We ended the night on the beach at the Polly and finally got to see the electric water pageant before Hallowishes. Seeing Hallowishes from that distance was just as amazing. Very happy we did it. Tomorrow is the final day for my parents so leaving it up to them to see how our night ends but have the ADR at cape may.

Another busy day.
We knew going into today it was going to be a mixed bag. Today is my sister Inlaws birthday and she would have been forty. We lost her this summer in a freak accident during a routine medical procedure. So our hearts were a little off. But being in Disney we stayed busy and had fun remembering silly things. On a Disney land trip the jungle cruise script included a ton of isn't that amazings that we laughed about for 11 years. We are looking forward to tomorrow our final full day here. We have the Parisian breakfast to start the day and wishes desert party to close the night out. Time really flies here.

Thanks Allie. We really did have an awesome couple of final days. Saturday we started the day at the Parisian breakfast. While the meal was great service amazing, dining with strangers is a little weird to me. In my career I have to be "on" all day so on my vacation if I have a moment I like to just have it and move on. Hard to do with a stranger at the table since you don't want them to think they did anything wrong. Only an issue due to the whole heavy heart thing. Mourning is a process I guess and most days I can deal with anything but Saturday was a mixed bag emotionally. Saturday was the only poor weather day as well but really the little rain we got was easy to tour around. We played around Epcot for a while then headed to the room to take naps before our supper at kouzzina. This is our first trip where naps were something we really planned for and this really helped us. We made our kouzzina reservation thinking it would be our favorite experience but wow was I wrong. The service was good but the food was really sad. I had my mind set on the oak fired steak since we made the reservation and I think that is when they started making the potatoes that go with it. So horrible i couldn't eat them. Thankfully my server noticed and brought me a substitution. The steak was hard to describe but there was not a good sear to it and it seemed like a boiled piece of meat more than grilled. Of all the places we have eaten in our disney journey this was with out a doubt the worst. In fact I can't recall a worse place to eat besides mcdonalds right at closing. On a positive note right after this reservation we had our wishes desert party. This was an awesome experience and Mandy and one of her friends were even able to join us. Not a bad first wdw for grown ups meet up. We really loved getting their cast member perspective of the world of Disney. I highly recommend doing this but also recommend being a little hungrier. So many selections. All very good.

Oh no! So sorry to hear Kouzzina was a bad experience for you! I've been wanting to try eating there but maybe I'll save it for breakfast since I've heard good things about that.

Sorry you had such a rough start to your day but so glad to hear the dessert and meet-up was great!

Allie you just never know, but Brett and I will leave that place in our been there bucket. Velcropooh that desert party was amazing and meeting up with fellow disney fans only makes things better.
