The Magic Plastic Card..

Good Morning All...Mainly I'am putting this thread on for UK tourists who are going to WDW for the first time, and wondering how to take their money..In dollars or plastic..In 2012 we used our old Key of the World card to pay for almost everything..At our check out in the last morning I used my Santander % Visa card, and I had worked out how much my bill was in British money..However the following month my visa bill came in and was much less than expected...Now a few weeks ago I paid for my 3 MNSSHP tickets which came to $214.08...using my Visa card...The exchange rate here at the moment is approx $1.65 to the British pound...However my visa bill came in today and I was charged PS125.98..That works out at $1.70 to the pound..So the exchange rate is 5 cents to the pound better off when using the plastic..It may not sound a lot but if your paying for food, drinks, and souvenirs, it soon adds up..Anyway that's my reason for this thread..As a matter of interest, do other UK tourists on here prefer to pay with plastic at the end of their vacation.

Cash and travellers cheque's for us .We have plastic for "emergency's" but we have a daily budget each and go by that.No nasty suprises at the end of the holiday or no sudden swing in exchange rates when we return.

Travellers cheque's.. eek Are they still available...What we did was years ago, we opened up a separate account with then Abbey National. ( Now Santander ) and named it our Disney account..So this year we will again put our holiday savings into that account..And when the visa bill comes in, all going well, we have the money to pay for it..If not I'll do time in the local prison..
